Nothing out of the ordinary for Democrat candidate for the 17th Legislative District Senate seat, we once again see Tim Probst firing off negative antics against his opponent, Republican Lynda Wilson.
This is par for the course with Probst as similar negativity has been seen in every campaign he has been involved in, even though he crows the loudest about clean campaigning and his efforts to run a clean campaign I have yet to see.
In this first negative ad he sent out, we see the effort to tie Lynda Wilson to 5-term State Senator Don Benton, who is not running for reelection and much reviled by Democrats in Southwest Washington.

Having offered my opinion on the 49th and 18th Districts, I now focus on what looks to be one of the more important districts for both parties in Washington State, the 17th.
Unlike the other two, neither party has a strong hold on the 17th. A “swing district,” the 17th has shown over the years their willingness to elect people from both parties as late as 2012.
While Republicans currently hold the edge in the i7th, Democrats have shown just how bad they want to make advances in the district as we saw in 2012 when they all but threw the kitchen sink towards defeating 5 times elected Republican State Senator, Don Benton, only to lose by a scant 78 votes.

A look back at the campaign by the campaign of Lynda Wilson, 17th Legislative District Representative (R) on her defeat of the incumbent Democrat, Monica Stonier.

I won’t be posting on results this evening as I will be away from my computer most of the evening. But, links below are being provided where you can read the results of local and state races as they are released. Results should be released after 8 pm.
For local results: http://results.vote.wa.gov/results/current/clark/
State and Congressional results: http://results.vote.wa.gov/results/current/
However the elections go this evening, we better begin remembering we are all Americans and ignore the efforts of bitter division separating us. We will never agree on everything nor should we. But the bitter battles and “my way or the highway” mentality seen far too long needs to come to a screeching halt, if we are to survive.
Good luck to all.

By now, most people in the country realize what a total failure Obama has been. Ebola threatening to spread, the Middle East coming unglued with ISIS beheading and murdering throughout the region, the national debt reaching $18 Trillion, participation in the labor force at an all-time low and so much more.
In fact, even many Democrats seem to feel he has become completely disconnected with several distancing themselves in hopes of winning reelection in a year that looks like may become a complete route for Republicans again.
According to Monica Stonier, back in 2008, she was completely enamored with and declared dedication to Obama, as evidenced below;

In a Press Release issued today, December 19, 2013, Clark County Republican Party Chair, Lynda Wilson announced her intent to challenge first term state representative, Monica Stonier for the seat she won last election in the 17th Legislative District.
Wilson, a native of Washington State says, “I am running for State Representative in order to help restore Liberty, Opportunity, and Trust to the citizens of Washington State. The Fundamental purpose of government is to protect individual liberty, a point all too forgotten in Olympia, where many act as though the hardworking taxpayer exists for their benefit rather than the government serving the people.”
Stonier, a Democrat elected to her first term in 2012 by a very slim margin, less than half a percent, has kept a low profile in her time in office. She failed to gain the endorsement of the local media in her effort in 2010 due to close ties to the teachers union.

The Constitution of the United States of America is one of the most remarkable documents ever written. It clearly and in plain language lays out the foundation of our nation, the makeup of our government and establishes the rights of our citizens along with the limitations of government.
It has served our nation well in our short history and guided us into becoming the super power we have been known as, along with being the freest nation on the planet a long as we have abided by it and followed the basic tenets of it.
But government wishes to grow and assume powers our country was founded to get away from, putting the limits on citizens and granting more powers to government denied it when we adhere to our Constitution.
