Outrageous and Uncalled for

by lewwaters

It’s no secret that I did not support Donald Trump nor did I support Hillary Clinton. But what is seen in the following video must not be tolerated.

WARNING! GRAPHIC VIOLENCE

This reportedly happened in Chicago and it is reported that Police are investigating, but no arrests to date are reported. The elderly man is said to have been hospitalized and his car stolen by the thugs, that has not been recovered.

Sorry Republicans, It’s No Mandate

by lewwaters

Trump Flip OffAs we all know by now, acerbic Donald Trump came out ahead over Hillary Clinton to next occupy the office of the president. The win comes as no real surprise as one of the two was going to win and both were poor candidates, not what we need to heal our divided country.

Seeing now how the GOP claims to have a mandate and big win is most laughable as once again, we see the presidency won by electoral vote while coming in second in the popular vote.

I have no problem with that as that is the system our founders established. I do disagree with the ‘winner take all’ of 48 of our 50 states and believe each congressional district should have electors voting as did their district. But that is in the hands of the legislatures of each state.

What Part of “INDEPENDENT” is Misunderstood?

by lewwaters

024It seems a small but vocal fringe element we have seen highjacking conservatism and the Republican Party are very upset. My guess is seeing Councilor David Madore kicked to the curb in the latest election is difficult for them to accept since he holds some mysterious messiah like position with them.

As with all miscreants, someone besides themselves must be to blame when things don’t go as they envision they should and they begin lashing out at whoever they feel is an easy target.

Ever since this blog exposed their efforts at PCO stacking two years ago, it has been one of the favored targets, they actually setting up what they think is an anonymous “Watch” blog site to critique and counter the efforts here.

What’s Happened to the Republican Party?

by lewwaters

Trump Flip OffI was born and raised in a strong Democrat family. No, not like today’s Democrats, far from it. A strong Southern Democrat family back when there actually was conservatives in the Democrat Party.

We know today that the Democrats have moved far to the left and if there are any conservatives left, they hide in the shadows.

It was the acts of Jimmy Carter that convinced me to become a Republican in 1977, seeing the Republicans were embracing conservative values, especially seen once Ronald Reagan defeated Carter in 1980.

Election Hangovers & Gloating

by lewwaters

I VotedWell, we made it through to Wednesday and it’s all over for some candidates while some others remain to be sorted out as ballots continue trickling in and being counted.

In all, I have no complaints on this election, save I was hoping to see Maria Salazar shake things up a bit in Ridgefield and breakup that good old boy club atmosphere out there. Sadly her race went to the incumbent, but Maria ran a good race, facing a whisper campaign of unsavory gossip about her.

The most watched race, Clark County Council Chair remains undecided whether it will go to Battle Ground Council Member Mike Dalesandro of former Clark Commissioner Marc Boldt.

Heal the County?

by lewwaters

Doctor FrankensteinIt is well known how Liberals rely primarily on emotions and highjack words to insert in narratives designed to mask their true intent.

We see it as they proclaim “diversity” yet refuse to accept conservatives or positions advocated by conservative thinking people.

It was seen the night in 2008 when Obama first won election and a sign was hastily posted outside the Democrat Victory party at the Hilton downtown that read, “The night America came together.” Never mind the previous 8 years of constant opposition and bashing of President Bush, demeaning him in every manner imaginable.

Win The War, Single Handed in One Day!

by lewwaters

Sitting on the side lines watching the current political climate in Clark County brought a memory of Vietnam back to me.

I’m sure many others that served there or in another Combat Zone recognize what I recall too, that being newbie’s that arrive to your unit, fresh out of whatever training they received, officer, enlisted or what have you and their heads are filled with visions of victory, refusing to listen to older more experienced officers and NCO’s.

We labeled them as out to “win the war, single handed in one day.”

As any soldier can tell you, victory is never easy or quick, and that doesn’t take into consideration how our country seems to have adopted a call it quits attitude these last several decades.

Has Vandalism Become Just Another Political Tool?

by lewwaters

I recently blogged on the vandalism of the home of Tiffany Couch, the forensic auditor hired by Vancouver businessman David Madore to independently audit the records of the Columbia River Crossing and expressed my disappointment with the Columbian for not seeing her home being vandalized as they did the car of an Obama supporter back in 2008.

This case of vandalism drew a lot of outrage in the community meriting no less than 3 articles in the Columbian and even a blog post by me at the time. Even though conservatives joined in the outrage over his car being vandalized, that did no stop Mr. Wastrodowski from writing a letter to the editor a year later excoriating conservatives and Republicans, that the Columbian was very obliging to publish.

Fast forward to this past weekend, July 31, 2011 and the photos below.
