Spider Freezes Traffic

by lewwaters

An unusually large spider disrupted the I-5 northbound commute as it held off traffic trying to cross the bridge into Clark County about two hours.

Light rail would not have made it across either, Rep. Moeller 😉

Lazy C Pegs Hypocrisy Scale ….. Again!

by lewwaters

Tits on a bullLeave it to the blight on our community, the local daily mouthpiece for the Democrat Party better known hereabouts as the “Lazy C” to always show us what true hypocrisy looks like. Under the leadership of Lefty Lou, they never fail to show complete and utter hypocrisy as they work towards implementing a one-party rule under the leftists.

The Monday, Dec 15, 2014 “In Our View” editorial gives us an excellent example of just that.

I’m not going to delve too much on the actual subject, County Commissioner Tom Mielke’s proposal to “prevent County Administrator Mark McCauley from consolidating or eliminating any of the departments as he assumes new power as county manager when the charter goes into effect Jan. 1” as that issue will be settled soon after a public hearing and open discussion between the County Commissioners.

Jeanne Stewart vs Craig Pridemore: Who Will Stand For Citizens?

by lewwaters

If you have any doubts about who will stand up for you and the rest of the citizens of Clark County, let this brief exchange put that to rest as both Jeanne E. Stewart and Craig Pridemore are asked about the citizen vote on Bus Rapid Transit in Clark County.

Jeanne E. Stewart has my vote and support as she will stand up for us and not downtown special interests. She honors our vote, Craig Pridemore does not.

Prosper and Thrive?

Pushed too far

As you all know, I have been subjected to a massive smear campaign of late because of exposing some underhanded tactics by the Clark County Republican Party, here and here. It backfired on them as a surprising number of people, young and old, Democrat and Republican even an Independent or two sent me messages of support, agreeing that what I exposed needed to be exposed.

It is widely believed that this current group of what I can only describe as “hotheads” was funded in their takeover of the CCGOP by current County Commissioner, David Madore, also owner of US Digital. Whether he has any direct involvement in this smear campaign, I really do not know, but he told me he does not and added he has no idea who they are.

Meanwhile, Out Back at the Woodshed

by lewwaters

Woodshed 1Larry Patella has been a staunch advocate for the people of Clark County & Vancouver, Washington. He has been in the forefront of many battles with the City Council’s desires to separate taxpayers from their hard-earned paychecks over several years.

And circumstances have proven him correct many times over, even though ultimately, taxpayers have ended up stuck with a bill they shouldn’t have. The list is too numerous to post here, but all too often his warnings have fallen on deaf Democrat ears and we taxpayers have ended up with the bills.

But, when he is wrong, he’s wrong and when he is too stubborn to admit it, even though several show him where he is wrong, I must defend what is right, let the chips fall where they may.

Lazy C Goes Barrel Scrapping, Again (Updated)

by lewwaters

Barrel 2It’s a given that a conservative candidate, for the most part, cannot get a fair shake when it comes to news by the Lazy C, aka the Columbian. Especially if they oppose the CRC they can expect to never see a positive word about them in the pages.

Editor Lou Brancaccio has claimed many times now that it is not so, but the evidence of their bias is so blatant it literally screams.

Such is the case with Vancouver City Council member Bill Turlay, running to replace Mayor Tim Leavitt.

Turlay has not once received the papers endorsement in previous tries for office, but the people rallied behind him since he actually sides with the people against special interest groups promoting the disastrous CRC light rail project.

Stewart and Doan for City Council

by lewwaters

Vote 1Voters in Vancouver Washington have another opportunity to restore the city or just allow it to the slide into obscurity. You are facing another off-year election where a majority of voters don’t bother to vote, seeing no candidates for national office running.

Unfortunately, those that decline to vote this time hurt themselves more since these off year elections are when many local offices are filled with incumbents or replaced with new people.

The Mayor of Vancouver race has already been covered, but three seats on the city council are up this time and if you are fed up with being ignored, silenced or disrespected, this is an important election for you. You can change how the city has been going.

CMAC Turns Political, Very Disappointing

by lewwaters

Lone Soldier bThe Community Military Appreciation Committee instituted back in 2009 to show appreciation to our Veterans and their families was something I looked upon as much needed in our community, as they worked to remind the community we do have Veterans and they need our support.

The group came into being as Events in our community hosted by the Military were in danger of being cancelled due to those Units being moved northward and out of the community, leaving us with few active duty.

From the efforts of Dan Tarbell and city council member Larry Smith, both Veterans, CMAC came into being and was established to promote Veterans and continue the proud tradition of Memorial Day and Veterans Day.

And, the group was intended to be nonpolitical. Or so we were told.
