WEA: Lying for Monica Stonier

by lewwaters

The Lazy C remains the Lazy C as copies of this flyer were sent to Lauren Dake, political reporter that never covered them and in emails, was more interested in why the claim was made that the WEA’s independent expenditure’s were the largest in the state. The distortions and fabrications in the flyer apparently were of no interest, as usual, when coming from a Liberal Democrat group.

Unbelievable how the Greedy Teachers Union, the WEA is attacking Alishia Topper in favor of returning Monica Stonier to the legislature, but this time in the 49th district. We see that the Greedy WEA has spent the largest single amount on independent expenditures supporting Stonier and attacking Topper, even though both are Democrats.

Adding to that now, a flyer sent out by the Greedy WEA blatantly attacking Topper with lie after lie after lie in it.

If we didn’t know better we’d think the Greedy Teachers Union that has in the past supported invalidating our votes for a 2/3 majority requirement for tax increases, support the State Supreme Court fining the legislature and overstepping their bounds in indicating an income tax must be passed against our constitution and continually thumbs their noses at taxpayers, demanding more and more money be confiscated from middle class families is somehow now conservative, opposing all of those very issues they have long supported.

See what I mean below in images from the flyer I received just today.

Topper in the 49th, Pos 2

by lewwaters

stonier-topperEven though I have largely shied away from elections this year, sometimes information comes to me that I just have to share with my readers. This information also will see me changing from throwing away my vote in the 49th Pos. 2 race to voting for Alishia Topper over district hopping Monica Stonier.

I was planning on just not voting in this race since neither candidate aligns with much of my views, but that is no longer the case after seeing last evening how the WEA (Washington Education Association), the granddaddy of greedy teachers unions in our state, has spent over $320,000 in independent expenditures to get Monica Stonier back into the legislature while also spending over $28,000 in opposition to Alishia Topper.

This all the while as Liberals are constantly crying “get the big special interest money out of politics.”

49th Legislative District 2016 Election

by lewwaters

With the announcement of seven-term Democrat, Jim Moeller not running for another term, the election takes an interesting turn in position 2, 49th Legislative District and as happens in other vacated seats, there is no shortage of hopefuls vying to succeed Moeller as he hopes to unseat 3rd Congressional District Representative, Jaime Herrera Beutler after abandoning his announced run for Lt. Governor.

SENATE

Annette Cleveland, Lewis Gerhardt, Vaughn Henderson, Justin Forsman

The 49th Senate seat has incumbent Democrat Annette Cleveland, facing a challenge from fellow Democrat Vaughn Henderson, as well as from Republican Lewis Gerhardt and Independent Justin Forsman.

Heywood’s Underserved Patting Himself on the Back

by lewwaters

Back Pat 2Never ones to forgo boasting and bragging, Democrats, through local party chair Mike Heywood are once again engaging in some undue boasting and even a bit of obfuscation in the recent dismal election results.

Heywood, who was “allowed to retire quietly” from his position as Lazy C editorial page editor after 27 years, caught using their time and computers to view pornography back in December 2002, makes some boastful claims in the December 2013 newsletter about the latest election. And, as Democrats are often noted for, seems to take a few liberties with the truth.

First off, Heywood labels the parties effort in this last election as “the organization’s first venture into the nonpartisan arena.” It would be more accurate to state it is their first OPEN venture into the nonpartisan arena since they have actively involved themselves in promoting nonpartisan candidates several times in the past, just as the Republicans have.

Thanking “the Jeanne’s” for Their Many Years of Service

by lewwaters

2013 Vanc City CouncilIt won’t be long now, just weeks away, and the city of Vancouver, Washington will be losing two multi-term city council members, Jeanne Harris and Jeanne E. Stewart who combined, have almost 30 years sitting on the city council, Harris for 17 years and Stewart for 12.

And, how typical of the Lazy C’s Stephanie Rice to take a parting shot at them both in their All politics is local blog over their rightfully questioning sending an official letter to representatives in another state, signed by city council member Jack Burkman and not the mayor.

That the mayor actually agreed with both Ms. Harris and Ms. Stewart, before justifying the act, doesn’t enter into Rice’s cheap shot, though and is typical of the poorly disguised ‘yellow journalism’ we see daily in the pages and online with what is the sorriest excuse for a newspaper I can recall.

Stewart and Doan for City Council

by lewwaters

Vote 1Voters in Vancouver Washington have another opportunity to restore the city or just allow it to the slide into obscurity. You are facing another off-year election where a majority of voters don’t bother to vote, seeing no candidates for national office running.

Unfortunately, those that decline to vote this time hurt themselves more since these off year elections are when many local offices are filled with incumbents or replaced with new people.

The Mayor of Vancouver race has already been covered, but three seats on the city council are up this time and if you are fed up with being ignored, silenced or disrespected, this is an important election for you. You can change how the city has been going.

Who Will Really Represent Citizens of Vancouver?

by lewwaters

It is obvious that Alishia Topper is little more than a rubber stamp for Identity Clark County and other CRC light rail special interests.

Do you want someone who only listens to form her own understanding of what is needed in the city?

Or someone that listens and reacts to your desires in the city?

There really is no choice.

Reelect Jeanne E. Stewart, the voice of sanity and reason on the side of citizens against special interests for the last 12 years.

Does Alishia Topper Really See Education as Just a “Weapon?”

by lewwaters

Alishia Topper 9New to politics and hoping to replace the main city council member who has consistently stood on the side of citizens over special interests, Alishia Topper continues to show a disconnect with the very community she wishes to elect her.

It has been previously shown that apparently, her memory of the horrific events of September 11, 2001 are gone or no longer matters to her, what with scheduling a party type rock n roll fundraiser for the day to compete with commemorations.

And she continues to not impress as now she posts a quote from known Communist, Nelson Mandela on education.

Alishia Topper, Have You Forgotten?

by lewwaters

911 037September 11, 2001 was a day few people should be able to forget. Much like certain dates in the past, December 7, 1941 and November 22, 1963, it is a date that should be seared into our memories.

We on the West Coast woke up to the news those of you on the East Coast were already experiencing, the worst terrorist attack in the history of the world as a team of terrorists high jacked airliners and flew them into buildings occupied by people just arriving to begin an honest day’s work, murdering nearly 3,000 people, even exceeding the deaths we suffered on the December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor that thrust the U.S. into World War Two.

By a unanimous vote, the House of Representatives passed Joint Resolution 71 and President Bush signed it into law Public Law 107-89, designating September 11 as Patriot Day.
