  1. I think it’s time for the state government and local governments to get out of the K-12 business as well as higher education. They’ve screwed education up so much that they’re only throwing good money after bad at this point. Get rid of local school districts and just provide tax incentives and/or vouchers. Put the onus on the parent to provide education to their children either through private schools paid for by voucher or through home schooling paid for by voucher. Sell school buildings and property to private educators (though I doubt the majestic campuses taxpayers provide would be cost effective to run and maintain). Let public school teachers apply for competitive jobs at private schools. Let’s see how good they really are.

  2. I don’t believe they could do that since education is written into the state constitution.

Still, I think busting the greedy teachers union, stripping away their power over elected officials would be a vast improvement of our schools.

  3. Yeah. I forgot to include that. We’d need to change the State constitution. I have no idea why the voters approved such an idiotic amendment in the first place.

If we can’t get rid of that amendment we should add an amendment that decertifies all public employee unions.
