Might Brancaccio be the Biggest Fool in the County?

by lewwaters

Brancaccio FoolJust a thought, nothing I have spoken to Sen. Benton about, but the thought crossed my mind of what if he included the newspaper litter tax in the list of options solely to get under Lefty Lou’s skin and see him ranting and raving endlessly, leaving him looking the fool?

Benton is no dummy, in spite of what people think of him and he has shown in the past his ability to rankle nerves while he sits back and laughs.

And let’s face it, everybody knows any such litter tax is DOA and even if passed in the legislature, would be quickly overturned in the courts.

Who Is Anson Service?

by lewwaters

That was the question on my mind once I heard that he had announced running against Sharon Wylie for the 49th Legislative District position 1 seat in Olympia. Quite honestly, I had never heard of him in any of my political dealings before. But having attended his campaign kick-off last evening, I do believe we have a candidate to keep an eye on and support.

Hey Lefty, Your Facade Is Slipping

by lewwaters

donkey-eyesReminiscent of an editorial after Barack Obama won his chance to dismantle American freedoms in 2008, now comes Lazy C editor, ‘Lefty’ Lou Brancaccio with yet another smokescreen call of “come together.”

Now, as then, it is nothing more than a partisan call to isolate those he dislikes, conservative Republicans and fall into step with his preferred socialistic and beloved Democrats as we see the call is always “come together” under Democrats with him.

The editorial, Press Talk: It’s time to move forward is nothing more than another thinly veiled attack against conservative Republicans, focusing on the same three, Benton, Mielke & Madore that we have seen every week for months now.

Might Today’s City Council and Progressives Caused World War Two to be Lost?

by lewwaters

Kaiser 2Listening to the rhetoric coming from the far leftists demanding the proposed oil terminal at the Port of Vancouver to be scrapped, the ominous feeling came over me that if these people, including the four and possibly more current Vancouver City Council Members who have said they oppose it, were around in the 1940’s, World War Two might have been lost.

It is not as much of a stretch as it may sound. Much of their expressed opposition centers around the assumption of a pristine river and river front, fears of pollution to the river and the soil, assumed dangers of the product to workers and those living near the port and more.

In my estimation, fears raised and blown out of proportion to promote their BANANA (Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything thanks John Laird) attitude to force the world to conform to their views.

So, Ed Barnes Thinks He Is A “Team Player?”

by lewwaters

Ed Barnes continues his campaign of grouchiness and blasting any and everything the County Commission does, then ended his weekly tirade with;

As a retired union thug, does he not realize a “team player” works with the team and not against them? It also does not mean that he gets to call all of the shots.

But, as he says, he is intent on tying up the prosecutors office and overloading them over nothing, all driven by hate and fueled by the Lazy C on a near daily basis.

Ed Barnes Wants to be a County Commissioner?

by lewwaters

The Lazy C has reported that local loudmouth and old grouch, Ed Barnes, has thrown his hat in the ring for the nomination to replace Steve Stuart on the County Commission.

Do we really want someone with such a grouchy attitude representing us on the County Commission?

Lefty Lou’s ‘Lamentarsi’

by lewwaters

Brancaccio FiatThe latest volley between the County Commission and the Lazy C sees a continuation in editor ‘Lefty’ Lou Brancaccio’s rather boring “lamentarsi” in promoting his dumbass coffee cup campaign.

For benefit of readers, lamentarsi is Italian for “complain, moan, howl, grieve, lament or whine.”

And that is all Lefty’s weekly Press Talk columns have been reduced to for some time now as he seems to be unaware of anything happening during the week except for whatever he can cherry pick from the County Commissioner Meeting to use in hopes of promoting that really dumb cup.

Now that Steve Stuart is Bailing

by lewwaters

Clark County CommissionersAs announced, Clark County Commissioner Steve Stuart has been named as the next City manager for the city of Ridgefield, Washington. Stuart previously announced he would not run for reelection this year, very likely having read the tea leaves that his chances for reelection were somewhat remote, at best.

With his leaving office early, if he actually does, the seat becomes vacant and the political party he ran under, Democrats have to present three names to the remaining County Commissioners to select his replacement.

Whoever is selected will finish out Stuarts term in office and likely will run for reelection in this November’s election.

Updated: Steve Stuart Selected for Ridgefield City manager

by lewwaters

Stuart Sneer 2It’s actually no surprise, it has been pretty well known around the county that Mayor Onslow, a fellow member of the C-Tran Gang of Five that sold us out to Oregon’s Trimet, was going to make sure Stuart received the nomination.

Ridgefield’s loss is Clark County’s gain, though.

Stuart will begin on April 14.

After that, the Democrat Party will put forth three individuals for Commissioner’s Madore and Mielke to select his replacement from. So far, I have only heard of Temple Lentz announcing she wishes to be one of the three.

Teachers Sought by Union to Oppose Evaluations

by lewwaters

Amazing the steps the teachers union apparently will take to fight basing teacher evaluations on student test scores. Following is a full email sent to me that is claimed to have been sent out to all members of the WEA, along with the request to not reply, print or forward the email.

Fortunately, someone decided the public has a right to know.

You in the private sector do not receive the opportunity to miss work, with pay and have your travel paid to support or oppose legislation that effects your children. But the teachers union apparently does.

Vancouver is in Dire Need of a Newspaper

by lewwaters

America is a country of inventors, and the greatest of inventors are the newspaper men” –
Alexander Graham Bell

Col. ScalesWords spoken long ago by Alexander Graham Bell, inventor of the first practical telephone, but that continue to ring true as we still see newspapers, the medium we should be able to place the most trust in for accurate and objective news, manipulating public opinion to fit some agenda favored by publishers or special interest groups favored by editors.

Day to day reports of auto accidents, women’s clubs, crime or obituaries may remain objective, for the most part, but politically this medium comes down solid on the left, in spite of claims otherwise.
