Heywood’s Underserved Patting Himself on the Back

by lewwaters

Back Pat 2Never ones to forgo boasting and bragging, Democrats, through local party chair Mike Heywood are once again engaging in some undue boasting and even a bit of obfuscation in the recent dismal election results.

Heywood, who was “allowed to retire quietly” from his position as Lazy C editorial page editor after 27 years, caught using their time and computers to view pornography back in December 2002, makes some boastful claims in the December 2013 newsletter about the latest election. And, as Democrats are often noted for, seems to take a few liberties with the truth.

First off, Heywood labels the parties effort in this last election as “the organization’s first venture into the nonpartisan arena.” It would be more accurate to state it is their first OPEN venture into the nonpartisan arena since they have actively involved themselves in promoting nonpartisan candidates several times in the past, just as the Republicans have.

Thanking “the Jeanne’s” for Their Many Years of Service

by lewwaters

2013 Vanc City CouncilIt won’t be long now, just weeks away, and the city of Vancouver, Washington will be losing two multi-term city council members, Jeanne Harris and Jeanne E. Stewart who combined, have almost 30 years sitting on the city council, Harris for 17 years and Stewart for 12.

And, how typical of the Lazy C’s Stephanie Rice to take a parting shot at them both in their All politics is local blog over their rightfully questioning sending an official letter to representatives in another state, signed by city council member Jack Burkman and not the mayor.

That the mayor actually agreed with both Ms. Harris and Ms. Stewart, before justifying the act, doesn’t enter into Rice’s cheap shot, though and is typical of the poorly disguised ‘yellow journalism’ we see daily in the pages and online with what is the sorriest excuse for a newspaper I can recall.

Despicable Lefty Lou

by lewwaters

Lou Brancaccio CountApparently not content that the absolute lie created and perpetrated that much maligned County Commissioner David Madore was pulling strings in the last city election, Lazy C editor Lou Brancaccio now seems to feel the need to extend his demeaning verbiage to outgoing City Council member Jeanne E. Stewart in his latest screed.

Actually, “screed” might be too diplomatic, absolute piece of filthy garbage might be more accurate as his entire Saturday, November 23, 2013 editorial seems to be more an effort to rub Ms. Stewart’s nose in the mud over losing the election, after it was the Lazy C promoting the provable lie of Madore pulling strings.

Showing what a complete asshole he really is, Brancaccio uses his screed to boast of his confronting Ms. Stewart after the City Council meeting, since she did not provide words he apparently decided she must say during the meeting.

The Weekend America Stopped

by lewwaters

SBHS 1It was a typically warm Friday afternoon in Hollywood, Florida as the students of South Broward High School filed into the bleachers in the football field around 1:30 in the afternoon for a pep rally.

We were released from class early for the pep rally as there was an important Basketball game scheduled that evening with our across town rivals from MacArthur High School and the principal wanted us to be charged up for a win.

South Broward was a pretty large school, even back in 1963, making me, a 15-year old sophomore one of just under 3,000 students’ enrolled sitting in the bleachers.

Harry Reid Remarks on the Senate Filibuster

by lewwaters

Reid 1As expected, Senate majority leader, Democrat Harry Reid invoked the “nuclear option” ending filibusters against Obama’s activist judicial nomination.

Speaking on the Senate Filibuster, Reid said,

“Since 1790, the filibuster has been employed hundreds and hundreds of times.

Senators have used it to stand up to popular presidents. To block legislation. And yes – even to stall executive nominees.

The roots of the filibuster can be found in the Constitution and in the Senate rules.
========================
Mr. President, the filibuster is a critical tool in keeping the majority in check. This central fact has been acknowledged and even praised by Senators from both parties.

Immediate Opening in Clark County Washington

by lewwaters

NewsGreat opportunity exists for a profitable career in Southwest Washington State for the right team willing to report news without a partisan lean one way or the other.

Southwest Washington is in dire need of a reliable and balanced news source willing to report fairly and allow readers to decide.

A degree in journalism is not necessarily a plus as journalists have long shown an inability to report all facts fairly without bias.

A news vacuum exists in Southwest Washington that could be filled by the right people more interested in truth than partisanship.

Who’s Doing “Stupid Stuff?”

by lewwaters

If Don Benton warning Ed Barnes of the potential of a lawsuit over his vitriolic outbursts is considered “doing stupid stuff,” then what is Ed Barnes threatening to sue every elected official that doesn’t abide by his desires?

Why is there no outcry over Ed Barnes threats like was whipped up over Benton’s?

When the Shoe Is On The Other Foot

by lewwaters

Dem Jackass 3It never ceases to amaze me seeing the blatant double standard practiced by Democrats today.

I received a notice by email from Politico stating, “Senate Republicans have blocked the nomination of Robert Wilkins to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, the third such rejection to the court in three weeks. Wilkins failed to garner 60 votes to break the GOP filibuster, 38-53.”

“The fight over judges could spill over into another confrontation over changing Senate rules by a majority vote, in which Senate Democrats seek to curtail the GOP’s filibuster use by invoking the so-called ‘nuclear option’.”

For refutation of their threat of the so-called “nuclear option,” let’s look at some words spoken by the former sweetheart of the Democrat party, now deceased, Senator Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts, from back in 2005 when the Democrats were blocking judicial nominations left & right.

Thank the Military This Thanksgiving

by lewwaters

Bush turkey 2Thanksgiving Day will soon be upon us and we will likely sit down with family and friends, overeat, watch a ball game and of course, somewhere in the course of the day we will give thanks for living in such a great country.

Most of us do not know hunger; fear of being dragged from our homes in the middle of the night to be interrogated or targeted by despots merely because we disagree with them and wish to lobby for changes.

We have fields of grain unlike many other countries and such bountiful farmlands that even the poorest among us are fed regularly.

We will give credit to many for such riches, but who really deserves credit?

Turlay Concedes, Sot Leavitt wins

by lewwaters

head_up_assRejoice citizens of Vantroit, you proved you want nothing to do with honesty and integrity.

Tim Leavitt staggers his way into a second term leading Vantroit to ruin.

You have a city council wholly bought and paid for by Identity Clark County and other special interests. You can expect your taxes to increase while their bank accounts swell.

You all want a city like Detroit?

You got it.

Who Was Bought in the Election?

by lewwaters

As the Lazy C created a falsehood of the election being all about Commissioner Madore and their braindead commenters chimed in with him “buying elections,” one thing you will not see in the pages of the Lazy C is just who was bought and paid for in the election. From the PDC reports:

Bought Election

Are we to believe that Madore, the “scourge” of Clark County according to Brancaccio, funded & bought all of the very people the Lazy C supported?

Vancouver, you been had!

Government Transparency

by lewwaters

This blog no longer supports David Madore and calls upon him to resign immediately!

Madore 003In spite of the demeaning, denigrating  words read regularly in the pages of the Lazy C, Clark County Commissioner continues to provide changes at County Government that will make our county better and more productive.

Just this evening Commissioner Madore posted on his facebook page;

It’s live – our county checkbook is now online.

There is Only One Real Question in the Mayor’s Race

by lewwaters

Leavitt, DufusThe Leavitt campaign and his supporters at Forward Vancouver appear to be really sweating this campaign as the lies and smears just keep flowing in favor of sleazebag, Tim Leavitt, unable to stand on his record.

Leavitt blatantly lied his way into office in 2009 and now, to counter voters holding him accountable, it’s just lie after lie after lie.

That a stalwart citizen like Ed Lynch allows his name to even be associated with the group is unbelievable itself, but he has, leaving himself open to every sort of criticism coming his way.
