Jaime voted for increasing the debt limit, along with several other Democrats and Republicans, against the wishes of the Tea Party. She said it “wasn’t an easy vote for me.”
Okay, but it seems to me she voted for the other proposals Boehner put forth that also raised the debt limit.
Listening to her explanation above, I can understand the first two criteria she outlines. But, for the life of me, I don’t understand how raising the debt puts a down payment on our staggering debt or how overspending is addressed by more increased spending.
I have never been able to balance my checkbook like that.
