In continuing what I previously posted in Malfeasance of the Jurassic Media on Yet Another Tragedy, concerning the media’s rapid effort to report news and how they often get it wrong, news comes now of how ABC (Always Blame Conservatives) News network seems to have got it wrong on something else in their reporting on the tragic shooting this past week in Aurora, Colorado.
I’m sure you all recall the earlier ABC News report quoting the suspects Mother as saying, “You Have the Right Person.”
I know I am not the only one whose eyebrow was raised over such a quote. How could a person some 1100 miles away, woken up at 5 am and told her son was arrested for something she had no knowledge of be able to so cavalierly state “You Have the Right Person?”

Once again a tragedy has struck a community and multiple people have been gunned down by a lone gunman, reasons unknown. Aurora, Colorado is the latest victim having to deal with such tragedy as we woke this morning to read of 12 dead; 59 wounded in the Aurora Sentinel.
Later reports have identified the shooter as 24 year-old graduate student and PhD candidate, James Holmes, who was arrested in the Century 16 Theater parking lot shortly after the melee.
Although any reason he had to commit such a heinous murder spree remains unknown, once again we see the media, ABC’s Brian Ross specifically leaping to assign blame and point fingers at those who have absolutely no connection to the tragic murders.

In what can only be equated to Hitler’s Reichstag Fire in 1933, where Hitler had the German Parliament building set on fire and made to appear as if the Communist opposition party was responsible, Moveon.org is now boasting of an “Award-Winning” video produced to defeat Tea Party members over a tax increase they title “Book Burning Party.”
That is was actually Moveon.org and leftists who burned books seem to slip right passed many as the ends justify the means in their nothing is off limits attitudes.
That it is a total lie also slides right passed them, just as Hitler’s many antics early on slide right passed an unsuspecting German citizenry until it was too late to stop him.

With full apologies to the honorable profession of dog-catcher for comparing Vancouvers worst ever Mayor to them, I read with great interest our local version of Pravda, the Columbian as they continue to hawk ‘Liar’ Leavitt’s chances of being elected to higher office, namely to the seat of 3rd congressional district representative, now held by the equally inept Jaime Herrera Beutler.
Leavitt eyes pros, cons of taking on Herrera Beutler
Both of these marvels of modern politics have accidently stumbled upon doing some things right, but for the most part, are mere puppets of unseen handlers directing what they do while in office.
Herrera Beutler’s less than stellar political career is diligently laid out at the link, so no need for me to rehash how, in spite of a youthful cuteness, she hasn’t a clue.
No, the focus here will be on Tim ‘Leave-It’s’ less than stellar performance as Mayor of Vancouver, Washington ever since openly lying his way into office, also seen here.

Not issuing an endorsement of Herman Cain just yet, but the man definitely deserves a serious look.
“You are not a racist for disagreeing with the President who Happens to be Black, you are a Patriot for standing up for what you believe in.”
The more I hear from Herman Cain, the more I like what I see and hear. The question now is, will the establishment GOP undermine him while they promote their favored RINO to win the nomination, as they did with the 3rd Congressional District race in 2010 and others in 2008 to give us one of the least liked candidates?

In a recent interview, the somewhat reverend Al Sharpton discussed jobs with Oregon Democrat Peter Defazio.
In July 2003 we saw the headline, “Bush’s Economy: Unemployment Soars” with the comment, “- The nation’s unemployment rate shot up to 6.4 percent in June, the highest level in more than nine years, in an economic slump that has added nearly a million people to jobless rolls in the past three months.”
Sen. Jon Corzine, D-N.J., then chairman of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee said, . “The verdict is in: The Republicans’ multi-trillion dollar failed economic policy is one the greatest disasters for working Americans in a decade.”
Unemployment was actually 6.3% according to BLS.

America was a country envisioned to be a free society, without a royal class owning the property and rewarding their friends and family with titles of nobility and given property to lord over the serving class, the serfs who worked that property for the benefit of the lords. Serfs of old times would be much like those of us in the blue collar jobs today, except we have had the freedom to strike out on our own and to increase our own wealth and own property ourselves.
Instead of a King rewarding those he wished to reward, we were granted the right to own property ourselves and unlike other government systems, we took for ourselves the right to determine who would be chosen to represent us in government. Those we elected are to serve us, not we serve them. They hold office at our leisure and during campaigns we hear promises from those hoping to be selected to represent us of how they will listen to us, they do as we wish in governance and they will be our voices in Washington D.C., our state capitols or even city & county government.
Once in office, those promises seem to fall by the wayside until the next election, regardless of what political party the particular elected comes from.

Janeane Garofalo says so. If you strive to better yourself, become successful and wealthy and adhere to the old fashioned conservative family values your grandparents taught, you’re a sell-out, nuts, bought and paid for or afflicted with Stockholm Syndrome.
Don’t you Black People dare step off of Uncle Sam’s Liberal Plantation.
Oh, and don’t eat a corn dog either, she thinks that’s “disgusting.”

As expected and as I predicted at the small Tea Party rally July 28, 2011, America’s credit rating has been downgraded from AAA to AA+, with expectations that it might even sink further. We didn’t need to allow that to happen, but in today’s air of hyper-partisanship, party power being more important than the good of the country on both sides of the aisle, it’s what we received.
Our problem remains our ridiculous staggering debt, now with the limit approaching $16 Trillion. Our elected officials seem only able to address the deficit between what they spend and what is received in taxes, spending greatly outpacing tax receipts.
Seeing how our Congress can only spend, spend, spend, we have lost the AAA rating we have depended on. The S & P Report cites among their reasons, “We lowered our long-term rating on the U.S. because we believe that the prolonged controversy over raising the statutory debt ceiling and the related fiscal policy debate indicate that further near-term progress containing the growth in public spending, especially on entitlements, or on reaching an agreement on raising revenues is less likely than we previously assumed and will remain a contentious and fitful process.”
The left immediately focuses on “raising revenues,” increasing taxes on the wealthy, and completely ignores “containing the growth in public spending, especially on entitlements.”
Instead of rolling up their sleeves and setting to actually fixing the problems, what do we once again see?

Straight from the mouth of one those who have gotten us mired in this problem
The Wall Street Journal’s James Taranto says it best,
“It’s rather galling for somebody who has never apologized for kicking off his career with such extravagant slanders to be lecturing anybody about ‘who’s real, who isn’t, who’s serious, who isn’t’.”
In case any have forgotten Kerry’s infamous lies,
“They had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, tape wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the country side of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.“
Thank you Swift Boat Veterans for Truth for exposing this guy in 2004 and keeping him from moving into the Oval Office.
Massachusetts, wake up!

Abraham Lincoln is credited with once saying, “Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.” I am hard pressed to see a more fitting example of that than when it comes to former 3rd Congressional District candidate and self professed “Icon of the Tea Party” Marine Corporal David W. Hedrick.
Ever since he burst on the scene with his verbal confrontation against former 3rd Congressional District Representative Brian Baird in August 2009, Hedrick has worked to keep his name out in the public. From his better than expected run for Baird’s position after he announced retirement to his attempt at literary genius in writing a children’s book, he seems to not want the community to forget who he is.
One such effort was not expected nor wanted by him, I’m sure. That being his arrest in October 2010 for Domestic Violence, that he was acquitted of earlier this year. The acquittal was no great surprise as his wife recanted the allegations she first leveled against him. Some accept her recantation and others do not as is always the case in such matters. In the end, no one among us knows what really happened that evening but Hedrick and his wife.

As anyone within the region served by Clark Counties newspaper of record knows, the Columbian is as “unbiased” as they can be. Or so they claim. In spite of example after example of the contrary being shown, editor Lou Brancaccio can be expected every few weeks or so to pen a column boasting of their “unbiased” claims.
From the cloak of secrecy surrounding the abrupt and mysterious resignation of Democrat 49th legislative district representative Jim Jacks to the continual support of the boondoggle Columbia River Crossing project, the Columbian continues giving a pass to Democrats and projects favored by them, even though it is continually shown to be of no real benefit to the community or taxpayers who will be stuck the bills for generations to come.
No better example of the “trash and bash” against anybody to the right of Chairman Mao or Vladimir Ilyich Lenin can be seen that the regular Sunday editorials of editorial page editor John Laird.

One week to the day after the horrific shooting spree that killed 6 people, including a 9 year-old girl and left a moderate congresswoman fighting for her life and wounding 14 others, a man attending an ABC-TV town hall meeting was arrested for issuing a death threat before the audience.
ABC News Anchor Christiane Amanpour was hosting the event, being taped for later viewing featuring victims, heroes, witnesses and first responders that were present at last Saturday’s “Congress on the Corner” event in the Safeway parking lot. The event was billed as “devoted to a recounting of what had happened that terrible morning” and carried the theme of “An American Conversation Continued.” Also in attendance were several dignitaries who were not present that day and locals.
The discussion, an effort to continue the discussion congresswoman Gifford’s was trying to have last weekend, eventually turned to politics, gun control specifically.

In spite of my earlier reservations on the existence of failed congressional candidate David W. Hedrick’s book, the Liberal Clause, HERE and HERE, originally advertised as being shipped July 15, the book does in fact exist and even though months late, is finally being shipped to those who pre-ordered the book.
One of several people that contacted me with their reservations and worries about the book was gracious enough to scan the 43 pages and emailed them to me, with the comment, “What a waste of $20.00. It should not have been sold for more than $4.00.”
After struggling to get through the short 43 pages it was easy to see why ‘Bob’ felt it worth only $4.00. The works of a literary midget, the pages are filled with spelling and grammatical errors. Hedrick would have served himself well by having someone review the pages before sending it to whoever he paid to print it.
