Patty Murray, Still as Stupid as Can Be

by lewwaters

Patty Murray 2It’s been nearly three years since conservative firebrand Ann Coulter rightfully labeled Washington State Senator Patty Murray “The Stupidest Person in America” and Ms. Murray appears hell-bent to keep on proving it.

Nowhere is this better shown than in her blind, rabid support of the Columbia River Crossing light rail project as she ignores bridge engineers, WSDOT, ODOT and past Dept. of Transportation Director Paula Hammond’s call of the current bridge over the Columbia River being “safe” so she can parrot other fearmongers erroneous calls of “the bridge is collapsing any moment.”

The Lazy C, staunch blind proponents themselves make Murray’s idiocy their headline news in the Saturday June 14, 2013 edition with Murray targets opponents of CRC wherein she repeatedly states how “unsafe” she feels the bridge is adding, “people who don’t want this to go forward don’t often think of the consequences if they win, and I think they need to think about that. … If this bridge collapsed here, there would be loss of life, there’s no doubt about it. I don’t want to go to anybody’s funeral to get federal funding.”

Patty Murray: “We Have To Destroy The Middle Class In Order To Save It”

by lewwaters

Patty Murray, ScowlPatty Murray, Democrat Senator from Washington State, following the lead of all other Democrats, portrays herself as a “Champion of the Middle Class.” They swept to power in both houses of congress in the 2006 elections by that claim, bashing President George W. Bush and the spineless Republicans who failed to counter the claims with truth.

The middle class has never been worse off since.

Winning office in the early 1990’s as just a “Mom in tennis shoes,” the now 62 year-old has shown herself to be more of a “Mom in muddy shoes,” sparing no effort to retain her cushioned seat of authority, promoting a Progressive agenda on the backs of the middle class while catering to big labor and selected corporate special interests.

Doesn’t Patty Murray Have Some Cliff to Worry About Falling Over?

by lewwaters

Patty Murray 2Patty Murray, the so-called senior Washington State Senator has long advocated for the Columbia River Crossing and forcing Clark County to accept Portland, Oregon’s financially ailing light rail, even though Clark County voters have voted it down in every ballot measure perceived to support it.

But that doesn’t stop dictatorial Democrats like Patty Murray, even though she is clueless about what goes on in Clark County since we never see her unless she is up for reelection or seeking donations to retain her in the cushioned seat of authority she has gotten accustomed to.

In spite of the apparent corruption surrounding the CRC, having sucked up over $160 Million in planning and can’t even design a bridge with enough clearance to meet U.S. Coast Guard specifications for river traffic clearance, she lends her voice to Oregon’s Governor in the call for “damn the voters, full speed ahead” with the project.

Supreme Court Decides for Socialism and Against the American People

by lewwaters

Ruth Bader Ginsberg was right just days ago when she said the Supreme Court’s decision on Obamacare would come as a big surprise to many people. Today’s announcement that the government is free to mandate private citizens purchase health insurance or be fined by the government totally shocked well over half of the American people who have consistently called for this ‘Obamanation’ to be repealed.

Even more surprising was seeing that Chief Justice John Roberts was the swing vote in the 5 to 4 decision that just handed the government total power to just mandate whatever they desire the people to do and we must comply? Isn’t that something more along the lines of Cuba, Venezuela or the former Soviet Union?

Most telling in the decision is Justice Roberts reasoning he wrote in the majority decision of the “individual mandate requiring people to have health insurance is valid as a tax, even though it is impermissible under the Constitution’s commerce clause.”

Yes, requiring us to buy health insurance is unconstitutional, but since it is a tax, it is now constitutional to tax us if we do not comply and buy health insurance.

Obama Succeeds in Court Ruling AGAINST Veterans

by lewwaters

I’m sure all of you reading this can recall the cries of Democrats during the 2004 presidential campaign, encapsulated by failed presidential candidate & self proclaimed war hero John F’in Kerry as he stated in a February 14, 2004 debate, “He’s cut the VA (Veterans Administration) budget and not kept faith with veterans across this country. And one of the first definitions of patriotism is keeping faith with those who wore the uniform of our country.”

Constantly during his two terms, President George W. Bush was accused of ignoring our returning Veterans, not providing them with the adequate care they needed through the Veterans Administration, even accused of only giving “grossly substandard and unsanitary medical care” to our Wounded Warriors at Walter Reed Hospital in 2007.

That none of it was true mattered little, the Democrats were in constant full campaign mode, seeking to seize full control over the country, using our Veterans and returning Heroes as props. They succeeded in seizing full control in the 2008 election that installed Barack Obama, hailed as the best thing since sliced bread and the messiah to many.

Our Troops and Veterans did not fare any better and the willing accomplices in the media ceased their exposes’ of dismal treatment of Veterans as they claimed was all that Bush and Republicans were doing.

The Troops were used as props and photo-ops to get control of the country, as is often the case when Democrats are in power. Nothing is sacred to them and no lie is too small or too big to tell to keep that power.

But the truth has a habit of leaking out and bypassing the lamestream national media as they continue in their efforts to suppress it.

Feds to “Mediate” CRC Incompetence

by lewwaters

Time and again the utter incompetence surrounding the Columbia River Crossing project is revealed to the public. This blog, the Willamette Week, other blogs and even both the Columbian and the Oregonian have run articles exposing the sheer incompetence we still see pertaining to the CRC.

Supporters and those involved with the CRC just continue burying their heads and plowing ahead, though.

Accounting irregularities were poo pooed by an “internal audit.”

Traffic predictions being much less than anticipated were ignored.

The Oregon Supreme Court finding that light rail was the driving force behind the bridge, after years of denials from CRC, was swept under the rug.

And of late, the refusal of the US Coast Guard to grant a permit to the CRC for the bridge was all blamed on the US Coast Guard.

And now, concerning the fact that the bridge is designed with too little clearance to handle river traffic, we read in the Columbian LaHood: CRC height won’t derail plan, “LaHood” being Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.

We read that Washington Senator Patty called upon LaHood to intercede between the CRC and the US Coast Guard, Murray saying, “It’s an issue everyone frankly thought was solved years ago.”

It is just another display of incompetence for Murray to claim “everybody thought it was resolved years ago.”

Where Are Obama and the Democrats as Gasoline Prices Soar?

by lewwaters

As gasoline prices hit and in some area pass $4.00 a gallon, what happened to the outrage from Congress we saw in the past?

“Someone is making a killing,” said John Kerry, Democrat Senator from Massachusetts.

“The American public is angry. They have a sense they are being held hostage to you, the oil companies. One is left with the inescapable conclusion that profiteering is occurring at the expense of the American consumer,” said Senator Richard Bryan, Democrat of Nevada.

“In the last week, American consumers have been ripped off on a massive scale,” says Senator Joseph Lieberman, Democrat of Connecticut who added, “Mr. Bush should summon executives of the big oil companies and tell them to exercise price restraint.”

OPEC “may not be the only greedy people in this picture,” said Democrat Representative Phil Sharp of Indiana.

At the time Democrats were lambasting President Bush 41, yes the first President Bush in 1990, the AAA was reporting the average price of gas had risen to $1.20, as quoted in an August 8, 1990 New York Times.

Fast forward 18 years to 2008 and we see Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash. Saying, “I don’t know what President Bush thinks, but four-and-a-half dollar-a-gallon gas is an emergency for America’s families. When was the last time the president filled his own tank?”

Elected Ruling Class Continues to Insulate Themselves from the Serf Class

by lewwaters

America was a country envisioned to be a free society, without a royal class owning the property and rewarding their friends and family with titles of nobility and given property to lord over the serving class, the serfs who worked that property for the benefit of the lords. Serfs of old times would be much like those of us in the blue collar jobs today, except we have had the freedom to strike out on our own and to increase our own wealth and own property ourselves.

Instead of a King rewarding those he wished to reward, we were granted the right to own property ourselves and unlike other government systems, we took for ourselves the right to determine who would be chosen to represent us in government. Those we elected are to serve us, not we serve them. They hold office at our leisure and during campaigns we hear promises from those hoping to be selected to represent us of how they will listen to us, they do as we wish in governance and they will be our voices in Washington D.C., our state capitols or even city & county government.

Once in office, those promises seem to fall by the wayside until the next election, regardless of what political party the particular elected comes from.

CRC Funding on the Chopping Block?

by lewwaters

A coalition of 4 advocacy groups calling themselves “Green Scissors 2011” has issued a report identifying programs that they see as “wasteful or environmentally harmful” and are recommending to the recently formed super commission to cut funding. Page 18 of the report lists “Columbia River Crossing” at the lower cost of $3.6 Billion saved.

In reality, we here in Clark County know that if cut, much more than that will be saved.

The coalition comprised of Taxpayers for Common Sense, The Heartland Institute, Friends of the Earth and Public Citizen has no personal stake in these programs and recommends over more than $380 billion in wasteful government programs the commission could cut.

Patty Murray’s Odd Request for Campaign Funds, From Koch Industries!

by lewwaters

In spite of all of the vile jabs Democrats have spewed towards Republicans and GOP donors, they apparently like their money too. Senator Patty Murray, in her role as chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee recently sent out such a request to one of the most hated GOP donors, Koch Industries.

Seattle Times

Koch executive Phillip Ellender replied to Sen. Murray wondering if “DSCC politics have become so cynical that you actually expect people whom you routinely denounce to give DSCC money.”

Part of the request for funds indicated that if the donation was large enough they could receive “an invitation to join you and other Democratic leaders at a retreat in Kiawah Island this September.”

No shame, Patty?

The question now is, will this rise to the scorn of the Columbian as did Raymond and Louise Denny receiving a campaign survey/donation request from the GOP back in 2009?

Let the Day After Memorial Day Be the Beginning of the Summer of Recovery

by lewwaters

Once again, Memorial Day, a day that has been set aside to pay homage to those who have fallen in service to our country and have given us the freedoms and liberties we enjoy with the sacrifice of their lives is upon us. Some communities may still hold parades; most all will hold some sort of ceremony to honor our fallen.

Like the last couple Memorial Days, this one will be held under the shadow of not only an ongoing war, but a deeply depressed economy and divided nation. Politicians, many of whom have gotten us into this mess, will undoubtedly step forward and make their speeches and no doubt, some will take advantage of the day to score a few political points.

But, who will actually take the bull by the horns and do what is needed to correct this elongated Great Recession we remain in?

As well as being a day to honor our fallen heroes, Memorial Day is also considered the official kick-off to the summer, where people across the country will go on vacation, visit relatives and friends far distances from them and get out and enjoy the countryside as much as they may.

With gas breaking $4.00 a gallon, unemployment still riding high, taxes going up all over, business still failing and the dark mood of the nation because of it, many less trips will be taken than was just a few years ago. Ultimately, that will result in making the situation worse as even less tax revenues from summer purchases will be made.

Senators Cantwell and Murray Fight to Keep America Dependent on Foreign Oil

by lewwaters

After the devastating crippling of America in the 1970’s due to the oil crisis in 1973, when Arabian members of OPEC embargoed oil to the U.S. over our support for Israel, then president Carter signed legislation creating the Department of Energy in August 1977, that was supposed to lessen our dependence on foreign oil imports, amongst other matters.

Ever since, we hear frequently from our politicians how we need to end our dependence on foreign oil, yet our dependence has steadily risen since the Department of Energy was created to the point that we now import some 51% of our needed oil from foreign countries, many hostile to us.

At the same time, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “we are the third largest crude oil producer” in the world!

We also read, “the U.S. has more than 200 billion barrels of oil and 2,000 trillion cubic feet of natural gas that are recoverable with today’s technology,” in an article in Forbes Magazine quoting a report prepared by the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners.

The article continues, “That’s more than most OPEC nations. If fully developed, it would be enough to eliminate our 10-million-barrel daily diet of foreign oil for half a century.”

At a time we are so heavily dependent on foreign oil sources and at the same time have a scarcity of wage earning jobs in America, we read of our illustrious left coast politicians, namely Senators Patty Murray and Maria Cantwell joining in with other Democrats up and down the left coast advocating a “Permanent Moratorium” on off-shore drilling?

Patty Murray Out of the Closet: Brags of Disdain for Straight Troops

by lewwaters

I have long maintained that Washington State’s senior senator, Patty Murray has no real appreciation of love of our Military, in spite of her public proclamations of just that. Last evening, December 20, 2010, she all but openly admitted her disdain in an email expressing her happiness over her voting to repeal the so-called ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy implemented by former president Bill Clinton in 1993.

Murray’s email said,

“Last week, I proudly cast my vote for legislation to repeal the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) policy. For far too long, men and women with the courage and commitment to serve our nation have been asked to hide the truth about who they are. This is shameful, it’s bad policy, and it needed to end. In a speech on the Senate floor prior to final passage, I urged my colleagues to repeal this failed policy and told the story of Major Margaret Witt, from Washington state, who was discharged under DADT.”

While Murray’s words are wrapped in gushing praise, she obviously did not bother to actually discuss the issue with front line combat Troops, but relied upon claims of a small segment of people in the Military who knew they would be ousted for declaring their sexuality and did so anyways.

GOP Wins Some, Loses Some

by lewwaters

Nationwide, last night’s election shows that Americans wholesale reject the Obama leftist agenda as Republicans regained control of the House of Representatives and made significant gains in the U.S. Senate.

Locally in Washington State, similar results are shown statewide as the Democrats have lost their lop-sided majority in the House and the state Senate is within reach of the Republicans, depending on a few still too close to call races.

Locally in Clark County, results weren’t as impressive, although some decent gains were made.

Vote Jobs

by lewwaters

Less than 4 days are left to mark and turn in your ballots. I like to carry mine down to the drop box and others will drop them in the mail. If by mail, be sure to have them at the Post Office early enough to make sure they are postmarked before the Tuesday 8 PM deadline.

Tim Likeness, our elections manager says, “The biggest issue we tend to have is that we have so many that get postmarked the day after” going on to add that about 600 ballots were received with a postmark too late to be counted in the recent primary election.

We have a lot of candidates running in this mid-term election and several initiatives to sort out, all of which are just as important as getting our ballots in on time. We have heard all of the Democrat vs. Republican rhetoric and barbs thrown back and forth and now must decide who and what we want.

Hard core Democrats, like their Republican counterparts will undoubtedly vote party line as usual and as usual, the actual selection will be left in the hands of Independents, the center of our population that adheres to neither party down the line.

Our country is in deep trouble with a lingering recession and no viable solutions on the table just yet. Unemployment remains higher than it has been in several decades with benefits running out and so few actual jobs being offered.

Patty Murray Finds Illegal Aliens to do the Campaigning Americans Won’t Do

by lewwaters

Illegal immigration is an ongoing problem within the United States with millions of undocumented aliens having snuck across our borders for various reasons. Most come to find a better life here instead of working to better their home country. Some come to carry drugs or other contraband into the country and some come with the intent to cause harm to American Citizens.

Government On Our Backs

by lewwaters

Unless you vote them out and not vote for more career politicians who care more about themselves than us, they will forever be on our backs. Voting Republican isn’t good enough as many are really in name only (RINO).

Screw the party. Let’s find people who care about America, not fulfilling a dream of being “important.”

Patty Murray Awards $$$ to Clients of Former Aides Now Working as Lobbyists

by lewwaters

Ann Coulter labels Washington States senior Senator as the stupidest person in America, but that didn’t stop firms who are clients of her former aides now working as lobbyists from being awarded some $20,000,000.00 in earmarks that she inserted into the 2011 defense appropriations bill.

“At least 17 former Murray staff members have slid over to the lobbying sector, capitalizing on insider knowledge and connections to win favor for their clients, including lucrative earmarks.”

“They include Murray’s former chief of staff, Rick Desimone, who landed a $1 million earmark in the defense bill for a Canadian medical company with offices in Kirkland. The bill was an even bigger win for Shay Hancock, Murray’s former lead defense staffer, who lobbied for three firms that got $7.5 million in earmarks.”

“Murray’s clout as an appropriator helps explain why lobbyists and their firms — including those that employ her former staffers — are among her biggest campaign contributors.”

“Despite her own network of lobbyist backers, Murray’s campaign and state Democrats have relentlessly portrayed her Republican opponent, Dino Rossi, as unethical because of his ties to lobbyists. In particular, they’ve hit Rossi for business deals with two statehouse lobbyists more than a decade ago when he was a state senator.”

Worksource Employee Involved in Murray Email Flap Takes a Shot At Veterans

by lewwaters

Weeks ago we were informed of a Workforce employee who used the resources of the Employment Security Department by contacting Veterans whose email she had to enlist their support of incumbent Senate Democrat, Patty Murray.

The employee, later identified as the Local Veteran Employment Representative for Worksource was to be disciplined in some manner for this breech of not only ethics, but violating state and federal law and the policies of the Employment Security Department.

By policy, what measures are to be taken are not made public.

This misconduct was first revealed on the blog site RedCounty.com by Bryan Myrick. Bryan, much to his credit, did not just let this matter drop and looking through several pages of emails received from the Washington Employment Security Department sees evidence that a campaign staffer from Murray’s campaign just might have coordinated with the Workforce employee to improperly use state resources in reaching out and convincing Veterans to support Murray.

Bryan’s work is well written and I have no intention of trying to “improve” upon what he has written. I can only suggest you go read his article and decide for yourself at Did Patty Murray’s Campaign Ask a State Worker to Use Gov’t Resources for Political Organizing?

What I do intend to do in this post is to express my outrage and utter dismay that a person employed in our state as the Local Veteran Employment Representative for the Washington Employment Security Department, after being exposed for her misuse of government resources to benefit one candidate over another would take a cheap shot at, of all people, VETERANS!

Yes, she is being paid to represent and assist those of us who have served in the Military and especially those serving today who are returning from battle in gaining meaningful employment once again as they reenter civilian life.

Myrick includes a copy of one email sent out by the employee sent to higher ups that begins apologetic to them and ends asking just “how high up the chain” did complaints from Veterans outraged over her email went. As you can see in the copy below from Myrick’s blog, in the middle of the email she says,

“I should have known that the Veteran Community would blow it way out of proportion.”

Excuse me?? She “should have known” that we Veterans, by “blowing it way out proportion” would end up misrepresenting her intent? That is how I take this email. She doesn’t actually take responsibility for her violation of law and instead, ends up blaming any of us who received the email and were offended by it for “blowing it way out of proportion.”

The original email sent out by the employee, Sally Garcia said,

“First I would like to say this is not an endorsement, just a call out to Veterans who may be interested in assisting with a “walk and knock” to remind people to vote. Specifically for Patty Murray. Whether you have voted for her in the past or are thinking of or planning to vote for her, the bottom line is she has done a lot for the Veterans of our community. Take a look at the attachments I have included and if you want to get involved contact Kerala Hise at 360-828-7898 or kerala@pattymurray.com.”(emphasis added)

Ms. Garcia signs the email as “Sally Garcia, Local Veteran Employment Representative, WorkSource Vancouver”

If her original email isn’t an endorsement, it’s a very strong supportive letter specifically sending Veterans she contacted to one candidate only and she not only uses a state compiled email list, but state owned computers.

Personally, other than throwing money and pandering for votes, this is one Veteran who doesn’t believe Murray is as strong of a Veterans advocate as she wishes us to think.

Regardless, how utterly distasteful for Ms. Garcia to take a cheap shot at Veterans, the very Veterans she says she works to represent, because we do not appreciate pandering or being used for political gain.

It is unknown if any disciplinary measures will rise to the level of termination in this matter. But if it doesn’t, may I suggest that Ms. Garcia be reassigned to another area.

The last thing Veterans need any more of is someone who is supposed to be advocating for us expressing such low regard for us.

Sally Garcia, with her slap at us, expresses eloquently what I see in Patty Murray towards Veterans. She may make a show of throwing a little money our way, but what high regard does either of them show to those who place their very lives on the line to keep both Patty Murray and Sally Garcia safe in their well paying taxpayer funded jobs?

Veterans deserve better!
