What Is This “New Clark County Conservative” Movement?

by lewwaters

Last Thursday, July 5, 2012, Mark Engleman, ‘Republican’ Precinct Committee Officer, precinct 190 sent out an email blast titled, “The New Clark County Conservative Movement – Addressing persistent misinformation” where he appears to make an effort to whitewash efforts at stacking PCO positions within the Clark County Republican Party by placing selected people in PCO slots to bring about a power shift.

First, let me assure you this effort has absolutely NOTHING to do the Clark County Conservative blogsite and judging by past comments left by Mark and others, this movement stands opposed to the positions taken and expressed by the Clark County Conservative blogsite, even though they decided to use the name of this blog in their movement.

Let there be no confusion there. This blog has been in existence and active since June 2008, just over 4 years. This “movement” came about just a couple months ago.

There Is No Republican “War on Women,” But there is a “War on Republicans”

by lewwaters

“The Republican War on Women is real, and it’s extremely dangerous. House Republicans are pursuing the most comprehensive and radical assault on women’s health and reproductive freedom in our lifetime,” said DCCC Political Director, Kelly Ward in an April 13, 2012 email.

Democrat Representative for Massachusetts Barney Frank, in a March 31, 2012 email said, “Enough already. Once again, Republicans have voted to destroy Medicare while slashing taxes for Big Oil and Billionaires.”

Vitriolic Democrat strategist James Carville sent out an email blast March 30, 2012 stating, “What’d you do yesterday? Between breakfast and dinner, Republicans in Congress voted to give Big Oil more tax breaks, cut seniors off from their Medicare, and give millionaires even more tax cuts. It’s enough to give you heartburn.”

Former President, B.J. Clinton on March 30, 2012 claimed, “[Republicans would] rather divide America than lead it. Just look at what’s happening now — are we really supposed to believe that women’s rights are getting in the way of job creation?” Uh, yeah Bill, tell that to Monica.

Former Democrat Secretary of State and Ambassador to the U.N. Madeleine Albright claimed in an email dated March 27, 2012, “Here in America, Republicans have launched an all out attack on women’s rights. They’ve targeted women’s health care and are trying to roll back basic rights that most of us thought were won more than a generation ago.”

March 24, 2012 saw an email from Nevada’s Democrat Senator Harry Reid spewing, “Let me be blunt: The only reason Republicans haven’t passed their radical anti-woman, anti-worker agenda – the only reason we’re able to get anything done for the middle class – is that there are more of us than there are of them.”

RNC Silence over “Women of the 99%” Illegal Robo-Calls Deafening

by lewwaters

It has long been said that the Republican Party has an uncanny knack of snatching defeat out of a victory. And they continue to prove it!

The left has launched an all out attack against conservative America, feigning moral outrage over any and everything they can muster. A usual tactic of the left, being met by the usual silence and spineless response from RNC leadership.

After years of debasing derogatory comments against conservative women, we have all seen the feigned outrage over Rush Limbaugh labeling a left wing activist a “slut” and immediately labeled as the “de facto leader” of the Republican Party. Silence from the GOP.

Emails have flown into my inbox from the likes of Guy Cecil, Executive Director DSCC making the false allegation, “While Rush Limbaugh and the Republicans wage a war on women, yadda, yadda, yadda…”

From Robby Mook, DCCC Executive Director I received, “From their all-male panel on birth control coverage to their refusal to denounce Rush Limbaugh’s vile attacks, blah, blah, blah…”

From a Kelly Ward, DCCC Political Director was received, “Republicans aren’t backing down from their War on Women crusade.”

Jay Inslee to Abandon Constituents to Seek Governor’s Mansion

by lewwaters

A ‘Breaking News Alert’ from the Seattle Times announced that 7 term Liberal Democrat, Jay Inslee (Wa. 01) will resign his position to the House of Representatives in order to devote more time in his struggle to be Washington States next Governor.

Click for larger view

Inslee, with a 92% record of following the party line has lagged behind GOP candidate Rob McKenna throughout the campaign and if the GOP were not once again playing favorites, it is likely he would be shown to be lagging behind conservative gubernatorial candidate Shahram Hadian as well.

The media and both parties have placed their bets on Inslee and McKenna, locking out others who would place the state the people of the state above all else.

Romney Wins Washington State Straw Poll Caucus

by lewwaters

Continuing his winning streak, former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney is predicted to win the Washington State caucuses by a comfortable margin. At the time of this posting he leads with 38% of straw poll votes.

Rick Santorum and Ron Paul remain in a statistical tie for second with 24% apiece, Santorum trailing by a mere 12 votes with 62% of precincts reporting. Newt Gingrich sits last with just 11% of the votes.

The Columbian is reporting Romney has won the Clark County caucus, receiving 37% of the votes, with Ron Paul at 28.5%, Rick Santorum at 22.5% and Newt Gingrich at 10.1%.

The Daily News in Longview reports Romney carrying Cowlitz County with 33.7%, Ron Paul 28.2%, Rick Santorum 26% and Newt Gingrich 8.4%

The Olympian reports Mitt Romney carrying Thurston County with 40.4%, Ron Paul 26.4%, Rick Santorum 20.5% and Newt Gingrich a distant 7.6%.

The caucuses saw a record turnout this year with several caucus sites reporting having to turn away hundreds of caucus goers as sites were filled to capacity.

Herman Cain, You Are Not A Racist, But A Patriot

by lewwaters

Not issuing an endorsement of Herman Cain just yet, but the man definitely deserves a serious look.

“You are not a racist for disagreeing with the President who Happens to be Black, you are a Patriot for standing up for what you believe in.”

The more I hear from Herman Cain, the more I like what I see and hear. The question now is, will the establishment GOP undermine him while they promote their favored RINO to win the nomination, as they did with the 3rd Congressional District race in 2010 and others in 2008 to give us one of the least liked candidates?

Debt Limit Increase Met Herrera Beutler’s Three Criteria

by lewwaters

Jaime voted for increasing the debt limit, along with several other Democrats and Republicans, against the wishes of the Tea Party. She said it “wasn’t an easy vote for me.”

Okay, but it seems to me she voted for the other proposals Boehner put forth that also raised the debt limit.

Listening to her explanation above, I can understand the first two criteria she outlines. But, for the life of me, I don’t understand how raising the debt puts a down payment on our staggering debt or how overspending is addressed by more increased spending.

I have never been able to balance my checkbook like that.

If the Chinese can get it, why can’t our congress?

“The only way the Americans have come up with to improve economic growth has been to take on new loans to repay the old ones. To eat May’s grain in April, however, will never be a permanent solution to a problem,” the official Xinhua news agency said.

Kirby Wilbur Elected Chair of Washington State Republican Party

by lewwaters

Just now seeing this on facebook, updates will follow as news breaks.

From the Seattle Times,

“Delegates at a Republican Party meeting in Tukwila gave 69 votes to Wilbur, 36 to Esser and 7 to Bill Rennie.”

“Esser argued the state GOP was in much better shape than it was four years ago when he took the reins, but Wilbur said Republicans should have done better in the 2010 elections given the national wave.”

“The question is not are we better off. The question is are we as good as we could be?” Wilbur said.

Wilbur is right. With the massive results east of the Cascades, we should have seen much better results in Washington State.

I can think of at least 2 legislative seats Clark County should have easily taken away, Jim Moeller’s and Tim Probsts’.

With Moeller’s Candy and Soda Tax outright rejected in November, he too should have been easily defeated.

Laura Sample was elected Vice-Chairman of the Washington State Republican Party.

Nansen Malin, chair of the Pacific County GOP that was unable to secure a single Republican candidate to run for local office this last election, announced on twitter that she has been elected to the WSRP Executive Board. Esser’s legacy will still be felt.

“Bringing The Axe To Washington”

by lewwaters

Not from our region, but Sean Duffy, a Republican running against State Senator Julie Lassa for the seat being vacated by David Obey in Wisconsin has released what many consider the manliest ad in politics. A District Attorney from Ashland County, Wisconsin, Sean grew up in the timber industry in Wisconsin.

We could sure use some candidates running in Washington State with his message.

Will the left have him investigated for threatening government by saying he will bring his axe to Washington D.C.?

Speakerette Pelosi Reacts To the TEA Parties

by lewwaters

Depending on tired campaign slogans, Pelosi spreads disinformation in hopes of countering the growing anti-tax movement.

Her cry of “failed Bush policies” are laughable. Our economy was moving along steadily, inspite of war on two fronts and growing. The Stock Market was at all times highs and unemplyment at record lows when she and her cabal of socialist Democrats seized congressional power in January 2007.

As they began dismanting our liberties and pushing their sodcialist agenda, our economy began faltering.

Don’t forget that our current situation was brought on by the failure of two Democrat based mortgage giants, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, which Democrats denied were in trouble back in 2003 when Bush tried to regulate them and again in 2005 when McCain tried.

While some in the RNC may support the TEA Parties, they are not sponsoring us. We are grassroots, much more than the ACORN and Moveon.org instilled rallies that often use paid professional protesters to appear outraged.

The left’s backlash to our backlash is predictable and manufactured to keep American citizens deluded to the truth of what Democrats stand for today, dismantling a strong America and rebuilding a copy of the failed Soviet Union.

Pelosi isn’t deluded at all. As usual, she and the left must spread lies and deceit to counter us. We threaten their socialist takeover and to fight us, they resort to their normal disinformation.

Ignore them and continue fighting for our liberties.

Welcome 2009

by lewwaters

20092008 will be gone and behind us shortly. Overall, it wasn’t all that good of a year for conservative Republicans. We did take a beating nationwide.

On the bright side, we now hold the majority on the County Commission with Tom Mielke’s win.

Washington voters gave more power to the Democrats, even though the state has slipped deeper into fiscal troubles under their leadership since 2004.

2009 will be the year conservatives begin coming together again and reasserting our voices, if we all become involved. We can no longer sit back and hope for the best. We must all get involved and assert our voices in the County Republican Party.

Democrats may be on the verge of dictatorial power, but they haven’t totally attained it yet.

Take some time and make the effort to let your voices be heard. Write letters to the Columbian and if they won’t publish them, contact me and you can post your thoughts here. Call and write our Representatives, even though they are Democrats and tend to ignore us.

Above all, let’s look for and identify true conservatives candidates and encourage them to run next election. Let’s get behind them, support them and campaign for them.

Moderate Republicans have drug the party downwards to mediocrity and Evangelicals have alienated many. We can retain our religious beliefs without it appearing like the church is running the party.

It’s time we acted, Southwest Washington Conservatives. Our country was founded by individuals like us who became fed up with over governance and stifling of our liberties. The liberal media, from Seattle to Vancouver, portrays us as “splintered” and un-organized, needing to move the party further left;

The Washington GOP: RIP?

Republicans need to use their brains again

Clark County turns blue as Democrats gain favor

Spending is out of control, Democrats admit they don’t know what to do, the governor calls for “ugly budget cuts,” while elected officials seek new “revenues.” Moderates have pushed the GOP to the left and we began losing elections nationwide. And now, we are told we need to move further left?

Tom Mielke and Mark Boldt can’t do it alone. They need our input and support as you can rest assured their decisions will be met with much left-winged scorn and vitriol by the Columbian’s John Laird and others.

Slightly over 91,000 voted Republican this year for governor in Clark County. That is a loud voice if we assert it.

We have good solid Republicans returning to office in Washington, Don Benton, Jaimie Herrera, Ed Orcutt and Joseph Zarelli. They need our help, support and input.

2008 is behind us and we need to make 2009 the year conservatives woke up and put our state back on track to success. All it will take is some minimal effort on your part and we can turn our state and country around.

Albert Einstein told us that Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

2009 is the time we must change our drift leftward and re-assert conservatism in the Republican Party.

2009 is when we must stop allowing the left to define our positions and party.

Contact the Clark County GOP or your own County GOP and let them know you are ready for real change, not just the lose change Democrats leave in your pocket.

Have a Happy New Years and let’s make 2009 count for America, Clark County and Washington State.

So, Now We Can Be Together, Huh?

by lewwaters

Half of America failed last night as they selected a totally inexperienced and unqualified new president. The Socialist Demokratic Politburo is now in complete charge of our beloved country, free to ram their Socialism down our throats.

Offers of freebies stolen from others and handed out reigned supreme as voters fell for the old ‘Robin Hood’ ploy, not realizing or just ignoring that is all just a myth.

Clark County Demokrats, you did your part in selecting offers of free handouts that you will end up paying dearly for in the years ahead. Higher taxes, in spite of promises, are coming, bank on it. Fee increases, tolls, you name it, they are headed your way too as the Politburo rams through their Socialist agenda.

You can thank the Columbian for their part in presenting lopsided ‘reports’ on candidates and your own laziness in not actually checking out candidates that would have fought for you, not Gregoire’s ‘more of the same’ failed leadership and taking care of Puget Sound first and foremost.

Republicans, you have your share of blame too. As Socialist Demokrats went for our jugulars with lies, innuendoes and deceit, you had no stomach to fight back, choosing to “take the high road” to oblivion, at our cost. They fight, we sit back and pray and wait for divine intervention.

Sunday School taught me that ‘God helps those that help themselves.’ Even Jesus told the Disciples to carry arms when traveling for defense.

If you want America back where it became great and not another Socialist third world nation, you better be prepared to fight. You better offer candidates with backbone who will fight fire with fire. Mr. Nice-guy doesn’t win elections; the Socialist Demokratik Politburo proved that last night.

I watched at the Hilton last evening as disappointment was replaced by merriment to party and enjoy your selves, instead of assessing why we continue to lose to Socialists whose empty promises litter our history.

Next door, the Socialist Demokrats were ecstatic at their take over, without a clue of what to do, especially in our presidential race.

Most appalling was there “in your face” sign outside the Ballroom door reading, “Tonight America Came Together.” Does it escape all that for 8 years they wanted NO Togetherness with us? Does it escape you that the only time they speak of being “Together” is when they rule?

Overtures of togetherness from our president were rejected for 8 years, replaced by denigration, demonization and outright lies. And now that they have selected the unqualified and totally inexperienced ‘Homey The President’ to top world power, after going out of their way to mock and destroy private citizens and a decent lady, they claim “Togetherness?”

Sorry, but we are not “Together” and will not be. When the Socialist Demokratik Politburo preaches “Togetherness” it only means “submission” to their agenda of hate and intolerance of the very values that made us a Great Nation.

To you Socialist Demokrats, you can say this is sour grapes, or any other derogatory words you can think of, it’s all you know anyways. But you have only succeeded in dividing America further and this Viet Nam Veteran is mad as hell and not taking it any more.

I lost 13 buddies I personally knew in that war fighting the very ruling class you embrace and owe it to them and the other 58,000 who made the ultimate sacrifice to oppose you to my last breath.

If the GOP rejects this, so be it. I am a conservative long before I am a Republican. I will continue on my own, alone, if need be, but I will not sit idly by and watch as my beloved country falls to communism at your hands.

You set the tone 8 years ago and maintained it throughout the last 8 years. Your chickens are coming home to roost now!

Don’t bother extending you hand to me. When we extended our hands over the last 8 years, you rejected the overtures and slapped us for the effort. I will not submit to your Socialism.

As Sir Winston Churchill said long ago, “Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.

You chose expected freebies, America. What you will receive is:

obama-flips-off-america

Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never, in nothing, great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. – Sir Winston Churchill
