A look over the years how various Presidents have reacted to danger facing Western Civilization.
Yesterday, as I was posting the previous post, word began breaking over news networks of what we today know was another horrific act of terror from ISIS in Paris as they systematically slaughtered innocent people again.
I refrained from posting on it yesterday, although I did make several comments on my facebook page, as anything I put down here would amount to little more than an anger filled rant.
Even if justifiable, my anger over so many innocents being slaughtered by ISIS on the very same day Obama came out claiming how they “were contained” would not have come across in how I choose to pattern my writing.
Thirteen years ago, all seemed well. The world was at relative peace, we thought. We went about our business that Monday, went to work, enjoyed our families, watched our favorite television shows, ate dinner and went to bed, looking forward to another week in our lives.
Tuesday morning changed all of that as we woke up the horrific scene of high jacked aircraft flown into buildings in New York and Washington D.C.
It didn’t take long to realize we were under attack and all air traffic was grounded out of fear of more high jacked aircraft being flown into other buildings in other cities.
The world hasn’t been the same since.
But I am also reminded that those journalists traveled to that region of their own accord, unlike our Troops who have been sent there for many years now to fight terrorists.
We lost thousands of them and the very media those journalists represent barely raised an eyebrow, other than to use those deaths to weaken our resolve in fighting terror and undermine the fight we all saw as so necessary after over 20 years and some 15 terrorist attacks against our way of life, culminating in the devastating September 11, 2001 attacks.
In light of the recent release of an Analysis showing the Oil Terminal at Port of Vancouver stands to add $2 Billion to our local economy, I am bringing back up this report from July 2011 showing much of our economic troubles over the past 6 years could be greatly eased by energy companies.
This blog has been and remains a strong advocate for expanding our energy sector responsibly and increasing the use of our own energy resources while so-called “Green” sources remain unperfected, unreliable and overly expensive.
Just about everybody understands the concept of lubricating something to free it up and get it moving. From squeaky door hinges to sliding parts, difficult to open windows to even removing a ring off of a swollen finger, putting a lubricant on it allows it to move freely and gets it moving again.
Although lubricants come in many forms, we commonly refer to them as “oil.” Of course, a good many lubricants are derivatives of oil, just some of the many uses of petroleum. Just a little dab of these lubricants, working the rusted part back and forth and soon, it is moving smoothly again just as it was designed to.
“I said this from the beginning of the debate to the walk up to the war. I said, Mr. President don’t rush to war, take the time to build a legitimate coalition and have a plan to win the peace. It’s the wrong war, in the wrong place at the wrong time.” – Sen. John Kerry, August 30, 2004 in opposition to the Iraq war.
“There is a reason why no matter what you believe about Syria, all peoples and all nations who believe in the cause of our common humanity must stand up to assure that there is accountability…” Sec. of State John Kerry, August 26, 2013 in support of Military action against neighboring Syria.
Kerry, the scorn of many Vietnam Veterans, this blogger included, for his treasonous acts and ‘testimony’ filled with lies before the Fulbright Commission back in 1971 after his abbreviated 4-month tour in Vietnam, who voted to approve sending Troops into Iraq only to come out heavily opposed a year later when he campaign for the Presidency, who claimed “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it” to fund the Iraq War and who said in 2007, “Iraq, as in Vietnam, more American soldiers are being sent to fight and die in a civil war we can’t stop and an insurgency we can’t bomb into submission” somehow now seem to think that we will be able to bomb or stop what is going on in Syria with Military intervention.
I don’t know whether Barack Obama is as clueless as he comes across or if he honestly thinks sucking up to a Communist regime will somehow improve his dismal performance in the Oval Office, but comparing a brutal dictator like Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh is a slap in the face to every American, especially to those of us who actually served in Vietnam during Ho’s reign of terror.
Standing alongside current Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang, Obama recently said, “At the conclusion of the meeting, President Sang shared with me a copy of a letter sent by Ho Chi Minh to Harry Truman. And we discussed the fact that Ho Chi Minh was actually inspired by the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution, and the words of Thomas Jefferson. Ho Chi Minh talks about his interest in cooperation with the United States. And President Sang indicated that even if it’s 67 years later, it’s good that we’re still making progress.”
Anybody who believes communism and our Declaration of Independence have anything in common is sadly mistaken.
It comes as little surprise to see George Zimmerman acquitted of the charges of second degree murder and manslaughter in the shooting of Trayvon Martin in Florida last year. From day one, the evidence to support such an allegation just wasn’t there and none presented during the trial did anything to disprove Zimmerman’s claims.
My initial concerns of him receiving a fair trial were in the forefront of my thoughts during the trial, seeing many from the judge going in favor of the prosecution, but in the end, justice prevailed and Zimmerman was acquitted of all charges.
At least, in a court of law he was acquitted. A heavily biased media whipped the Black Community and Liberals into a frenzy since they first made the case national news, editing audio to make Zimmerman sound racist, portraying Martin as an innocent 12 year-old simply buying Skittles and even trying to portray Zimmerman as White, changing that label to White Hispanic when his true ethnicity came out.
A prime example of this would be the impeachment proceedings of former President William Jefferson Clinton over his lying to Congress about sexual relations he was accused of having with a young White House intern, Monica Lewinsky.
The country became fixated on that scandal and the Republicans fell for it hook, line and sinker.
If you think back, Ken Starr was getting close to the Clinton’s in his investigation of the many scandalous acts of the Clinton’s when suddenly, news broke of he was receiving oral sex from a young intern and a dress had his semen on it. The country’s attention became fixated on that allegations while Republicans in the House launched impeachment proceedings over his lie of “Now, I have to go back to work on my State of the Union speech. And I worked on it until pretty late last night. But I want to say one thing to the American people. I want you to listen to me. I’m going to say this again: I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Miss Lewinsky. I never told anybody to lie, not a single time; never. These allegations are false. And I need to go back to work for the American people. Thank you!”
As we have gotten all too accustomed to today, speculation immediately focused on unknown conservatives, creating false links to “right-wingers” and “Tea Party” to smear conservatives in America as leftwingers continues their assault on traditional minded Americans.
Late Thursday and early Friday morning the smoke began to clear as we heard of a raging gun battle occurring in Massachusetts where two individuals seen walking through the crowd at the marathon were acting suspiciously and appeared to leave backpacks in the vicinity of the explosions were located.
One was killed in that gun battle and the younger brother is the effort of an intense city wide manhunt as I write this.
Both the State of Oregon and Washington have been experiencing budget gaps exceeding $1 Billion for the last few years. While we have remained mired in this ongoing “Great Recession,” both states continue to struggle with issues of decreasing revenues while also moving ahead on wasteful spending projects, addressing Public Union contracts and a growingly frustrated private sector depending on entitlements to survive, unable to find viable employment.
At such severe economic times as we have seen since 2008, one would think growing private sector jobs to rebuild lost revenues would be a paramount duty. But not so with both states under heavy control of the Democrat Party.
Oh, they pay a lot of lip service on job creation, usually mentioning “Green Energy” jobs that rely on revenues to remain in business or be created. But when push comes to shove and massive job growth stares them in the face, they turn away.
Kira Davis, a young Black Conservative woman explains why the Second Amendment is important to keep and why today’s Americans should oppose gun bans
Once again we find ourselves preparing to have our ears tickled by Barack Obama as he speaks before both houses of congress and the nation to give the annual ‘State of the Union’ speech where he undoubtedly will speak of how well the country is doing under his tutelage and how well off citizens are, whether we actually are or not.
He is expected to cover “his plans to create jobs, tackle gun violence, and pass comprehensive immigration reform” as Nancy Pelosi, unarguably one of the worst Speakers of the House in our history, famously known for stating “we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it” regarding Obama’s signature ‘Obamacare’ legislation, a direct contradiction of Obama’s campaign promise of a transparent government.
She also makes mention in this same email seeking support for Obama of this “ambitious agenda.”
Chicago murder rate far worse than during Al Capone ‘gangland’ daysFriday, February 01, 2013
February 1, 2013 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — In this I-Team report, Chicago’s rising murder rate in a new context, how the numbers of shooting deaths compare to the city’s most notorious crime era, the one that has tarnished Chicago’s reputation around the world for a century.
The surprising stats show the city is worse off now in the category of murder than at the height of the era that has driven Chicago’s reputation for almost a century, Capone’s “gangland” Chicago.
I know, you’d be more shocked if I did believe something released on behalf of Barack Obama, but bear with me and see if this newly released photo of Obama supposedly skeet shooting on Aug. 4, 2012 rings true with you.
The Constitution of the United States of America is one of the most remarkable documents ever written. It clearly and in plain language lays out the foundation of our nation, the makeup of our government and establishes the rights of our citizens along with the limitations of government.
It has served our nation well in our short history and guided us into becoming the super power we have been known as, along with being the freest nation on the planet a long as we have abided by it and followed the basic tenets of it.
But government wishes to grow and assume powers our country was founded to get away from, putting the limits on citizens and granting more powers to government denied it when we adhere to our Constitution.
