Bill Maher Trashes The Troops

How despicable that he says of our Troops,

“Forget about bringing the troops home from Iraq. Can we bring them home from World War II? Can you believe that in 2009, we still have 50,000 troops in Germany, and 30,000 troops in Japan? At some point, their people are going to have to learn to rape themselves!”

Even for a braindead liberal like Maher, this troubling. Not only have I contacted HBO demanding he be fired, which I’m sure will be ignored, I sent hte following letter to Obama, Senators Murray and Cantwell as well as Representative Brian Baird,

I write this to you not only as a constituent and American Citizen, but as a Viet Nam Veteran, member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

You have publicly declared yourself many times to be an advocate for our Troops and Veterans as well as desiring the broadcast airwaves to be “cleaned up.”

The Democratic Party has spared little effort in attacking Rush Limbaugh in that effort.

Now, Bill Maher, on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher has made a despicable and disparaging remark concerning our Troops in Japan and Germany. He said, “Forget about bringing the troops home from Iraq. Can we bring them home from World War II? Can you believe that in 2009, we still have 50,000 troops in Germany, and 30,000 troops in Japan? At some point, their people are going to have to learn to rape themselves!”

Surely you will find this comment, disguised as a “joke” as despicable as i do and much more disparaging than words said by Rush Limbaugh, since it is directed toward our Troops, which you claim to fully support.

I call on you to publicly condemn Bill Maher just as you have Rush Limbaugh.

I will be watching and listening for your comments on this egregious behavior in our airwaves. Whether you condemn it or remain silent, I assure you I will let all of my fellow Veterans and readers know of your response, one way or the other.

I’m not holding my breath, but if they fail to comment on this egregious comemnt by Bill Maher, after so many condemnations of Rush Limbaugh, it is just more proof that they have an agenda of silencing the right, while giving a pass to the left, who says much worse.

It’s All America’s Fault, Naturally

Recently Hillary Clinton, failed presidential candidate, former First Lady in one of the most scandal ridden administrations in history, one term US Senator and current Secretary of State, spared no effort during a recent visit to Mexico City blaming America for the current Drug War in Mexico.

Hillary said to reporters,

“Our insatiable demand for illegal drugs fuels the drug trade. Our inability to prevent weapons from being illegally smuggled across the border to arm these criminals causes the death of police officers, soldiers and civilians.”

Just a couple problems with her claims.

First of all, what is this “our” in her claim of an “insatiable demand for illegal drugs?” I have no desire at all for “illegal drugs,” nor does anyone I know personally. In fact, conservative beliefs and values are most commonly anti-illegal drugs. With few exceptions, hasn’t it been conservatives and Republicans executing the so-called War on Drugs?

Again, with few exceptions, hasn’t it been liberals and Democrats who largely oppose this war and push more for allowing this so-called “insatiable desire?”

Or, was Hillary actually only meaning those of her own values?

Second, Mexican Drug Cartels aren’t who are using smuggled weapons from the U.S. to murder and kill Mexican Military and Police. They are armed with fully automatic military weapons, not available at any gun shop or gun show in America or to any private citizen.

Any weapons being smuggled south into Mexico aren’t fully automatic military weapons, but simple stolen handguns being used by private Mexican citizens to protect themselves, since Mexico has a ban on guns dating back to 1968.

Ralph Weller wrote a very enlightening article for Gun News Daily after spending much time south of the border and witnessing just what all they had down there.

As he also says, an article appearing the Latin American Herald details the arrest of a Cartel Hit man and their seizure of many weapons, including “23 grenades, two grenade launchers, and a rocket launcher,” none of which are available to any member of the private sector in America

Hillary is right that we do need to stand with the Mexican Authorities, but blaming America and turning a blind eye to Mexican government corruption will not accomplish anything.

Dealing with the public and foreign media honestly and Mexico addressing an end their own corruption will.

More Change To Believe?

First we have the cap and trade adding taxes to us. Then we see the want to determine executive pay, repeal bonuses and seize corporations. We also see the call for a Civilian National Defense Course and required service to the state. All move us closer and closer to a Socialist Marxist State. Now we see this report about yet another violation of American freedom & liberty.

Although the Bush Administration was castigated for “secrecy” around this, Obama has tightened the cloak of government secrecy around it claiming authority under B.J. Clinton’s Executive Order 12958 citing “classified in the interest of national security.”

No outrage from those who complained Bush was keeping it secret.

While ostensibly claimed as an “anti-counterfeiting treaty,” the imposition of government and intrusion into our privacy goes much deeper than all the claims made about others violating our rights.

You asked for change and it’s coming, if you don’t wake up soon.

Do We Really Need Government Oversight On Executive Pay?

An article appearing in the Sunday March 22, 2009 New York Times tells us, “Administration Seeks Increase in Oversight of Executive Pay.”

After creating the furor over the AIG retention bonuses paid executives, it is very easy to believe this is a needed step to “protect” our financial institutions. But is it really? Or is it just another subterfuge to bring American Business under the controlling thumb of the Dictatorial Democrat Party that has wormed their way into total governmental control of all of us?

Disturbing in this desired “oversight of executive pay” is reading “possibly other companies.” Just what other companies is left unsaid, but I have no doubt that eventually this “desired oversight” could reach down to you and me, Blue Collar Americans trying to feed our families and live our lives as we see fit.

No doubt America and the rest of the world is suffering economic problems, but will government takeovers of businesses help us? I don’t think so.

Don’t forget that it was the Obama Administration that coerced Senator Dodd (D. Ct.) to write into the Spendulus Bill that these bonuses go ahead. Why allow them, and then feign such outrage? Why rush a bill through so fast that not one person voting for it had time to actually read it?

We are told that during the campaign, “Obama repeatedly urged regulators to adopt new rules to give shareholders a greater voice in setting executive pay for all public companies.”

I wonder why no one ever worries about giving voters a greater voice in setting elected officials pay they vote for? In fact, what other position allows for voting in your own pay increases, regardless of performance or economic conditions and leaves taxpayers footing the bill for vacations disguised as “official trips?”

The editor of our local paper, Lou Brancaccio, wrote an editorial this past Friday, March 20, 2009 titled, Symbolism counts in tough times. Nowhere does he or anyone else call upon our elected officials to forego their automatic pay increases every year and give voters a voice in what they might be paid.

As Obama and the Dictatorial Democrats are marching us into Socialism, saddling future generations with trillions and trillions of dollars of debt and bankrupting the nation by printing more money out of thin air, we would be better served by exercising the oversight on them instead of corporations.

Long ago a group of men came together and wrote a document declaring among other things,

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

Our Declaration of Independence was a declaration from the people, not from a new government.

Our forefathers fought bloody battles to free us from oppression and today we elect such oppressive government back into power.

If the ruling party gets away with deciding what executive pay can be, don’t be surprised they will cap yours too. Just look at the speed with which the Democrat controlled House of Representatives rushed through approval of a 90% tax on those bonuses, directly against our constitution.

We are witnessing the classic divide and conquer, but from within. Class warfare is what the Bolselviks and Nazi’s used to gain their power in the past. History shows how their experiment turned out.

If we are to remain a free people we cannot let it happen again.

We must oppose this Socialist takeover. Comandante Obama and his cabal must be stopped

Isn’t One Murdered Child Enough?

After the brutal murder of 13 year-old Alycia Nipp, allegedly at the hands of a convicted Level III sex offender, released under a policy of monitoring him with a GPS tracking device on his person, we might think that legislators would open their eyes to the folly of their ways in this policy and do something to keep these predators off of our streets.

When it comes to many of our Legislators in Olympia, Washington, nothing could be further from the truth it seems.

As Republicans representing Washington State try to pass legislation to keep these predators in prisons longer or add measures to keep them off of our streets and away from our children, the Democrat majority in the Legislature consistently opposes measures calling for stiffer sentences and stricter measures on their release.

Senator Don Benton tried without success to pass a version of “Jessica’s Law” in 2006 in Washington State. His bill died in the Judiciary Committee.

After the murder of Alycia Nipp here in Clark County, Benton again tried to introduce an amendment to another sex offender bill, only to see it blocked by the imposition of Parliamentary Procedures by Debbie Regala, D-Tacoma and upheld by Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen, also a Democrat.

Currently, Senator Benton has introduced another bill, SB 6115, enhancing penalties for and monitoring of sex offenders. Even though introduced after the cut-off date for bills to pass out of committee, Benton vows to fight for its passage anyway.

I give special credit to Senator Tim Sheldon of the 35th Legislative District for being the lone Democrat to step up and co-sponsor this piece of legislation.

Representative Jan Angel, Republican from Port Orchard also tried to introduce her bill in response to the brutal murder of Alycia Nipp. HB 1834 was not even given a hearing!

Representative Angel said,

“We have an opportunity to protect vulnerable citizens with new, effective technology, and yet the majority party completely ignores this legislation”

Personally, I don’t feel her bill went far enough, but is a step closer to doing what we must to keep our children safer and stop those we know will most likely re-offend from having easy access to them.

Although Alycia and her family reside in the 49th Legislative District, neither of our Democrat Representatives, Jim Moeller or Jim Jacks, signed on to co-sponsor this effort.

And again, I give credit to those few Democrats who went against their party and co-sponsored this bill, even though it did not even receive a hearing.

It should be noted that our local newspaper, the Columbian, chose to mention this at the very bottom of an article, Lawmakers approve wide range of legislation, where it would least likely be read.

Most disturbing was seeing that within days of Alycia’s murder and the arrest of the transient Level III sex offender accused and confessed in her murder, our legislature in Olympia was pushing forward with a bill to ease restrictions on some sex offenders.

SB 5288 passed in the Senate by a 38 to 8 vote by a bi-partisan vote, leading me to believe many see it as a cost cutting measure. Surely the safety of our children and protecting them from sexual predators would be more important than other areas receiving taxpayer funds, but it doesn’t appear so.

The bill is before the House currently, so we will see where their priorities lie.

Throughout America, websites are popping under the guise of Citizens for Change that also distort sex offender laws and call for easing of restrictions on so called lesser offenders or those that have not been caught re-offending for a certain period of time.

They throw up a smoke screen by always mentioning those few cases where teens are caught up in offender cases or other cases considered minimal, by them. One even once told me that stronger laws “do more harm than good!” I wonder who is harmed more by stiffer penalties for these repeat offenders?

One such supporter of easing restrictions once said to me, “the vast majority of sex offenders on Tier three are no threat to anyone.” Just how we are supposed to tell that before another child is murdered is left unsaid and unanswered.

While many may be well meaning, although misguided in my opinion, they cloud the issue of repeat offenders who eventually murder someone, all too often a child.

Missed is that nearly every one of those repeat offenders and murderers also began their spree in what these people consider “lesser crimes” that even they would ease restrictions on.

Statistically, maybe most don’t end up murdering a child, but again, how is it to be determined which ones will eventually murder and which won’t? Why must we wait until another child is murdered to find out?

In the case of the bill to ease restrictions above, six months without re-offending is considered acceptable. With guidelines such as that, Westley Allen Dodd would have qualified for easing of restrictions that were instituted after his rampage of murdering three children here in Clark County in 1989.

Would you be comforted to know that the one who murdered your child, “statistically was no threat?”

How did we as a society, become so cavalier as to take on the attitude of a Department of Corrections official, who in regards to Alycia’s death said, “Tragic as it is, these things happen.” How is it our legislators can sleep at night knowing they have the power and ability to keep these predators off of our streets and out of our neighborhoods, yet block actions to do so?

One murdered child is one too many in my estimation. It is high time we citizens identify which legislators place criminals above our children’s safety and vote them out next election. We citizens must hold our elected officials responsible and if they will not carry out our will, vote in others who will.

UPDATE: Just one example of why we need stonger measures, Violent sex offender escapes Portland treatment center. “William Dale Surrat, 40, has a long history of sexually abusing young girls and fantasizing about mutiliating others.”

Let’s hope and pray he is recaptured before another child pays the price.

Senate Bill 5688 Passes at 9:51 PM Tonight

This is a sad day in Washington State. Standing against economic concerns, religious concerns, tradition and marriage itself, the Washington State Senate passed SB5688 at 9:51PM tonight, thus setting the stage for homosexual marriage in Washington State.
I cannot tell you how profoundly saddened I was, personally, as I watched the proceedings tonight.
Sen. Dan Swecker attempted to pass an amendment to send the matter to the people for a vote. The amendment was defeated.
Sen. McDermott said, “No. We’re elected to vote on behalf of the people.”
Senators Swecker, Stevens, Roach, and Holmquist spoke in opposition to the bill pointing out this bill creates an equivalency to marriage.
I will have more detail and where we go from here in tomorrow’s blog. I have included the roll call vote below. Please note how each senator voted tonight. Also note that Senators King, Pflug, and Brandland abandoned their own Republican party and voted against traditional marriage.

Murder by Memo

The case for embryonic human stem cell research butchery

“Moreover, no man knows when his hour will come: As fish are caught in a cruel net, or birds are taken in a snare, so men are trapped by evil times that fall unexpectedly upon them.” (Ecclesiastes 9:12 NIV)

This morning, I listened as the news anchor forced a bright tone into his voice and regurgitated the poisonous talking points of the memo he just consumed:

“President Obama has signed a Presidential declaration that will allow embryonic stem cell research to proceed forward …” The announcer goes on to list all the wonderful medical breakthroughs that this research will under gird. We are assured that the embryos are left over in fertility clinics, and would not have been used anyway.” These embryos were never intended to be allowed to live, so it is OK to kill them now. But, don’t worry, the News Anchor assures us- we will never cross that really bright line- we will never produce embryos for the purpose of killing them! How moral of us! How refined!

So with the stroke of his pen, Obama has made this decision to withdraw protection from the least among us. For a man who famously claimed that decisions about life in its earliest, most delicate phases was “beyond his pay grade,” Obama is certainly giving us our money’s worth now. We only have to pay a lowly presidents salary to a man who is now freely and recklessly making decisions about other people’s right to live and die. Obama’s presidency can almost be defined by the phrase “making decisions beyond his pay grade.”

In his “fair and impartial” voice, the news announcer pretends to state the position of opponents of embryonic stem cell research, “Opponents of embryonic stem cell research say that such research is unethical because the embryos still have a chance to grow up to be people.”

How clever. How dishonest. How revolting. How disingenuous. “Because the embryos still have a chance to grow up to be people.” No, Mr. News Announcer, the “embryos” are human already. You are just using the word “embryo” to camouflage that truth. You know that “embryo” does not conjure up a tiny human with ten toes and ten fingers- you know that people think of an embryo as non-human, as some kind of a tissue blob that does not look like us. It’s always easier to kill a person if you dehumanize him. And you have done it with a word! How brilliant! How stunning! How terrifying!

And Mr. News Announcer, now that you have turned the reality of humanity into a talking point, how will you escape from the “evil times that fall unexpectedly” on men? Have you not considered that someday in the near future, when you are in your News Announcer Nursing Home, that someone will not silently creep into YOUR room and remove YOUR life support? They will reason that you had your chance to be human, but now your time has passed, and someone younger needs your bed to finish out THEIR fully human experience. You will not need that bed- someone younger has decided that your time has come to matriculate out of humanity. Do you think anyone will be listening to you then, as you desperately try to tell them that you missed THAT memo?

Liberals Booted Out Of Hunter Safety Class

Thirteen-year-old Lane Dunkley, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was looking forward to going hunting with his grandfather. To get an Oklahoma hunting license, he first had to attend a Hunter Safety Course.

After bringing his grade average up to meet his father’s standards, He and his father traveled to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma for such a class.

At the beginning of the class, the volunteer instructor asked if any had voted for Barack Obama. Lane’s father raised his hand, the instructor railed on about Obama and asked the father son duo to leave, threatening to cancel the course if they did not.

While I am no fan of Obama, gun safety training is no place for such partisanship rhetoric. This instructor missed a golden opportunity to show liberals how serious conservatives are about gun safety and to let them see we are not the crazed Bible Thumpers we are often portrayed as.

Rightfully so, the instructor lost is position swiftly, a decision I support.

There is a time and place for all of our partisanship and Obama’s performance is a fair target, like others before him.

Taking it out on a 13 year-old is just wrong, as is including such partisanship in a gun safety course.

Obama, Whiner In Chief

It would appear that a slim majority of Americans chose a ‘whiner’ to lead the nation last November, instead of a man of strength.

Just six weeks into his administration, the New York Times conducted an interview with Obama aboard Air Force One.

They report that Obama said,

Look, I wish I had the luxury of just dealing with a modest recession or just dealing with health care or just dealing with energy or just dealing with Iraq or just dealing with Afghanistan. I don’t have that luxury, and I don’t think the American people do, either.”

President George W. Bush didn’t have that luxury either, after the worst terrorist attack in history occurred shortly after he took office.

President Ronald Reagan didn’t have that luxury either when he assumed office in the midst of a much deeper recession and with America’s spirit all but shattered.

What makes this different though, is a stunning statement coming out of Obama’s mouth, but not included in the main article. It is included however, in the transcript that few read. Obama amazingly stated,

Somebody noted to me that by the time something reaches my desk, that means it’s really hard. Because if it were easy, somebody else would have made the decision and somebody else would have solved it.”

What did he expect, a cakewalk?

During the 2004 campaign, President George W. Bush was lampooned for referring to the Presidency during a debate with John ‘F’in Kerry (who served in Viet Nam), that “It’s hard work.” That statement brought cries of

he is in over his head. Way over his head.”

Don’t expect to see any of these same detractors who endlessly bashed President Bush for such a statement to suddenly realize that it took Bush nearly 4 years in office to make such a statement. It took Obama six weeks!

And, Obama hasn’t had to deal with an attack on America that cost 3,000 American lives!

For 8 years, President George W. Bush led the nation while enduring daily assaults on his leadership, his character, his decisions, his intelligence, his performance and his abilities from the media, politicians and BDS infected citizens. Yet not once do I recall him pointing fingers at others or to previous administrations.

Much like the president who preceded Mr. Bush, known for everything being some else’s fault during his 8 years in office, Obama saw fit to telephone the reporter hours after the interview ended with a “clarification.”

Obama said in part,

I did think it might be useful to point out that it wasn’t under me that we started buying a bunch of shares of banks. It wasn’t on my watch. And it wasn’t on my watch that we passed a massive new entitlement – the prescription drug plan without a source of funding.”

No, but they sure passed the largest spending increase in our history, without a source of funding.

Little wonder that in just 6 short weeks, his “Strongly Approve of” ratings has dropped to 39% from a high of 45% and is dropping as people see weakness, not strength in their choice.

Washington State Democrats Block Stronger Sex Offender Laws

Shortly after the murder of 13 year-old Alicia Nipp in Hazel Dell, Washington State Republcian Senator Don Benton tried once again to get stronger sentencing for sex predators in Washington State.

Benton said,

Clark County is up in arms about this. All of us representing Clark County are receiving e-mails asking what can be done. It is just horrific.”

Ladies and gentlemen I ask you to join me today to send a strong message to these heinous criminals, these horrific predators that prey on our children and our communities that Washington state will not be a haven for this kind of activity.”

He tried to attach an amendment to a bill and was met with resistance from Senator Debbie Regala, D-Tacoma, upheld by fellow Democrats and Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen.

I am left speechless that Washington State Democrats have such little regard for the safety of our children that they continually fight and oppose efforts to protect our children from these predators who are allowed to freely walk our streets with minimal supervision.

Do Washington’s Elected Officials Care?

It has been nearly two weeks since the community lost 13 year-old Alycia Nipp, brutally murdered in a Hazel Dell Field. An arrest has been made. She has been laid to rest. The family still grieves as do her personal friends. But, all too many others seem to have successfully put the murder behind them, moving on with their lives.

Fingers have been pointed at developers and owners of the field where abandoned and condemned homes remain standing. Ignored is that destruction of the buildings must be in accordance with some vague environmental regulations, causing delays as potential hazards must be inspected and assessed.

One of the most shocking revelations to me in all this was discovering that not only do we have known dangerous sex offenders freely roaming about Clark County, but that an effort by Senator Don Benton, Republican from the 17th District, to pass stronger measures dealing with these predatory sex offenders, DIED IN THE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE in 2006.

After posting Alycia Nipp Did Not Have To Die and just before posting Protect Our Children First, I shot off emails to all of Clark County’s elected officials in Olympia, both party’s.

I received replies from Senator Benton’s office and from Representative Ed Orcutt, who shares my outrage. Representative Orcutt said to me,

We have attempted to pass Jessica’s law in the past, but it got watered down to Jessica’s lite. I have asked staff to draft a true Jessica’s law and will seek to get it passed this year. Since we are past committee cutoffs, it is a bit more tricky, but I will still push for it.”

From the audio linked to above, Senator Benton also continues to try to get stronger protections for our children.

Sadly, the only reply I received from Democrats was Representative Jim Moeller asking me when was Senator Benton’s Bill allowed to die, even though I stated in my message that it was 2006.

Why is it that our Republican minority in Olympia meets such strong opposition from Washington States Democrats when it comes to protecting our children from these predators?

Senator Craig Pridemore, Democrat 49th District, has a link on his web page to a pdf copy of a 2007 document, Sex Offender Sentencing in Washington, which did nothing to protect Alycia or get these predatory monsters off of our streets.

I did not find statements or comments about this from the others on their web sites about the need to protect our children. Newly elected Representative Jim Jacks seems to be living up to his campaign promise to “listen and learn,” instead of taking actions or promoting ideas.

I was particularly shocked to read the daily Letters To The Editor section of the Columbian and find so few letters published expressing outrage over so many repeat Level III sex offenders freely roaming Clark County, wearing only a GPS tracking device for satellite tracking to determine their whereabouts by Department of Corrections, not parents of children, who were not told of these predators roaming their neighborhoods.

Commenting about this confessed Level III sex offender held in the murder of Alycia Nipp elicited comments of blame to the parents and it being the parents responsibility to protect their children, not the state.

Hellooooo, keeping these monsters off of our streets and out of our neighborhoods IS protecting our children.

Today’s Columbian tells us of another Level III sex offender, who forced a 14 year-old girl into prostitution and assaulted the girl numerous times in Portland, has now moved to Clark County and is also “homeless.” He too is wearing a GPS tracking device that may place him in the vicinity of any potential crime he may commit against our children AFTER the crime is committed.

I am left wondering just why these animals feel safe and secure into move to our community in the first place and freely roam about.

I don’t want to believe or think our elected officials do not care, but when I see more effort placed on forcing us to accept Light Rail for a new I-5 Bridge, money ready to be wasted on a waterfront project, when we don’t have it and other such budgetary efforts, over passing strong legislation to protect our children and citizens first, I can’t help but wonder just where are their priorities.
